My son is almost two and still wants to drink milk at least 8 times a day. I realize to much dairy is not good, but he will not drink soy. Is there anything I can substitute for that tastes like milk? The other problem is he will only drink it from a bottle.

look into a gf/cf diet. www.gfcfdiet.com

most people crave the foods they are allergic to.

I would elimate that from his diet, if he starts demanding cheese. Cut that too. after a few days you will notice a change in behavior negatively at first, then a great pick up in cognitive skills. After several weeks re-ad milk and see what happens.

another possibility is a canditis infection.

My son did the same thing. What I do is only give him milk in a sippie cup. Then I put out water in a big boy cup. Dh and I drink water in our own grownup cups. I think he drank the water at first because he liked the cup. Now he drinks it more often and I am able to limit the milk. I find that I need to limit the milk so that he eats other solids and has a more balanced diet. I let him have about 2 or 3 sippie cups a day, but I keep a glass of water out of for him all of the time. I also offer 1 small cup of juice a day as a milk distraction.
