My ds1 started running a fever last Monday and Friday he woke up w/no fever. I'm not sure how high it was b/c my thermometer broke and I never replaced it. Ice chips, baths and rest was keeping him comfortable- so I never called the dr or anything. He wouldn't let me give him tylenol or motrin, so he just worked through whatever bug it was on his own.

Now dd is starting with the same fever. Started last night, but she can talk and tell me how she's feeling. She says her head hurts. I can give her pain relief, she'll take it w/o a problem. I have cool stuff on her forehead, that's also helping her.

So, any guesses what would just cause a fever- no real coughing, vomiting (ds did vomit 2x over the week, though pretty random), or other symptoms. I wouldn't say they were/are lethargic, but when the fever is up, they are sleepy, when it goes down- they act absolutely fine. The fever is up and down throughout the day- pretty normal stuff.

My infant son caught Q fever from a rabbit at at neighbor's house.

It's basically the fever with no other defining symptoms.

Of course the CDC link above mentions vax and antibiotics as the "cure"--- seems to me the cure is far more dangerous than the illness.

Extra Vit. C (60%-40% Rose hip/C powder) in juice smoothie (strawberry, banana, mango, papaya) would be good.

Vit.A from molecularly distilled cod liver oil (eliminates industrial toxins) boosts the immune system as well.

Check out "The Power of Probiotics" thread for the immune boosting effects of the beneficial intestinal flora. I make two yogurts for my family-- Jarrow and Ethical Nutrients Acidophilus and Bifidorum.

They're great for WHATEVER ails you.

Good luck,
