I have a weird question. Last month was the first month I got my period back after my baby was born. But it has been 5 1/2 weeks since then and I haven't had another cycle. I was wondering if my cycle could not be fully back or there is a chance I am pregnant. I really don't want to be pregnant, and I have an IUD in. I always had regular cycles before so it is worrrying me that I haven't started yet. Any knowledable advice?

I had the same thing happen to me! At around 5 months pp I got what I was sure was my period. I told my midwife, she said oh well. I just accepted it. But then it never came again! At first I panicked too. Oh no, I don't want to be preggers again!! But it's now nearly four months, still no period, and I am pretty sure I am not preggers (NO other symptoms and I am on depo)
Not sure what it all means, but I am healthy and happy aunt flo is gone for now.

This has also happened to me. DS was born 9/5/03 and I got my first period since his birth on Jan 1. I have not gotten another one yet. For a while I was taking my temps, so I know I wasn't pregnant. After dd, I think my first cycle was 44 days.

I'm in the same boat, and wonder if there's an explanation for this. I had my first pp period in dec, 35 days later had another, 21 days later had some brown spotting, and now it's been a total of 39 days (incl. the 21) since my last period. I'm so confused!! I tested this am to make sure and it was neg, so that's good. If I still have no period this week, I'm going to test again. This is just too weird! That would be awesome to have it gone for a while, but I can't take the suspense!!! I know after getting off the pill and before having kids, I had a 42 day cycle once. Anyway, I really need to start charting so I can understand this better. I've been scoping out TCOYF, but can't find any great answers (other than that spotting b/n periods is normal).

I think it's pretty normal for pp menses to stop and start. Your body is still adjusting to being fertle again, after all.

everyone else still nursing? I think that may be what's going on w/ me. I was expecting weird things to happen when we weaned (whenever that will be ) but not right now. Oh well!
