HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 6 month old grabs and scratches her diaper area when I change her diaper.
I thought it might be yeast...or the sweet potatoes I fed her...or just her funky sensitive self...or just a normal thing to do when you are 6 months old and suddenly realize you have hands and other neat body parts.

So, I guess the history is of her being extremely sensitive/colicky with major food sensitivities and a history of possible problems with disposable diapers (we seem to have an ok brand now) but she still gets the humid crotch thing going on waaaaaaay more than I would estimate to be "normal". I don't remember her older sis ever having problems like this when she was a wee one. then again, she was cloth diapered and had herself in a clean dipe every 15 minutes, give or take...

Is this yeast? what??aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh help me out!!! What to do???

My DD was the same way, her skin was so sensitive, it would bleed when I wiped it soometimes. The best recomendation: no diaper as much as possible and to try to let the area completely dry btween changes (fan it if necessary, they love the feeling anyay! lol) It may be the causes you suggested but realize the more she scratches it, esp. if a rash pre-exists) the itchier it gets.

BTW, I have a DS now who has completely diffferent skin. 14 months, never had a rash at all either.

Thank you for your valuable input! I feel like such a moron sometimes and that I *should* know what to do, but don't know for some reason!

I did eliminate every possible cause and re-introduce one thing at a time and lo and behold it seems it was the calendula diaper cream for *sensitive skin* LOL

Just when you think you have the bases covered....
