In my long saga of vulvar problems...the consensus among healthcare people of various of stripes seems to be that I'm probably having an auto-immune response to either my initial yeast infection (2+ months ago) or the ridiculous barrage of meds they gave me to combat it. I'm curious about what I can do to maximize my body's response and (hopefully) kick this thing. Right now I am:

1) taking a naturopathic immune tonic with echinacea, astragalus, licorice, suma, and ginseng
2) avoiding sugars (except a little fruit), refined flour, and caffeine
3) taking very high-quality (and expensive!) probiotics

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Try Omega 3 fish oil. They boost the immune system and also decrease inflammation. I use Carlson brand. Nordic Naturals is also a good brand. If you can manage to get some moderate excercise in that would also be beneficial.

Peace,

I'm vegan, so no fish oil for me. But I do eat lots of walnuts and/or flax every day. And I could get a vegan DHA supplement as well.

Pycnogenol is a great immune system booster, and it's made of pine bark, so you don't have to worry about a conflict with being vegan.

You might check around about whether NAET can help with an auto-immune response. I'm honestly not sure.
