I am looking for any moms who encountered this condition with their son(s). I have a 9 month old who was born with a hydrocele around his left testicle and his right testicle was not descended. The hydrocele is resolved, however the other testicle has not come down yet. We went to see a pediatric urologist when he was 6 months old and the doctor basically said lets wait until he's a year to determine what to do--hoping the testicle would come down to it's appropriate position. He could manipulate it into the scrotum, but it wouldn't stay--so it is not in the abdomen it is in the pubic area.

Okay, so moms did your sons have the surgery? Did anyone elect not to have the surgery and wait? If you opted out of the surgery, how long before the testicle came down? How old was your son when the surgery was performed?

Thanks in advance I'm appreciative to anyone who takes the time to read my post and respond.

The surgery on my grandson was done when he was 2y. old. We thought we shouldn't wait any longer. But we were not completely informed.

If I were you, I would post this in the circumcision forum. 'Franklyspeaking' will give you the best advice.

Good luck!

My little brother had that, my mom waited until almost three to see if it would come down, and it never did on it's own. He had the surgery then fell a few days post op, it went back up but redecended two days later. If it doesn't decend to could become cancerous or result in decreased fertility.
