I've been getting the email newsletter from the FDA/NIH for a few months now, and it's very informative (and disturbing) about food and drug recalls, there seem to be dangerous drug and food recalls all the time, that I never hear about in the news. The link to register is: https://list.nih.gov/cgi-bin/wa?SUBE...wsdigest-l&A=1

Today's newsletter included the following:
NeutraGard 0.05% and NeutraGard Plus 0.2% Neutral Sodium Fluoride Anticavity Treatment Rinse; all flavors; 16-oz. bottles

Reason for recall: possible bacterial contamination

Food Recalls:

Oriental King Brand Dried Vegetable; 4-oz. bags

Reason for recall: undeclared sulfites

Certain lots of Moveable Feast's Smoked Scottish and Smoked Norwegian Salmon; 4-oz. size

Reason for recall: possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes

Safety Alerts:

FDA has notified healthcare professionals and patients that cases of breathing problems, some causing death, have been reported when the drug promethazine HCl was used in children less than two years old. The agency also urges parents and caregivers to get a doctor's advice about giving the drug to children age two and older.

FDA is recommending that healthcare providers take safety steps when using the COLLEAGUE Volumetric Infusion Pump manufactured by Baxter Healthcare Corporation. The COLLEAGUE pump has exhibited problems that include under-infusion, battery failures, false alarms and failure to alarm.

Thanks!

I get the CPSC list for products, toys, etc... but I never thought to subscribe to the FDA list.

I do agree with you.. most of the time when I get an email about a recall, it is something that I haven't heard on the news (and don't hear most of the time)

that's actually kinda scary!

Here's the CPSC link if anyone wants it
