Has anyone used this before?

We just got stool analysis back and its positive for dybiotic bacteria and yeast. They both showed sensitivities to oregano and cyprilic acid (coconut oil). We have an appt next week with the DAN! Dr. and I'm sure he will give us amounts to use to try to kill the bacteria and yeast.

I was just wondering if any of you had used this and what were the amounts and results? Did things get worse before they got better? How long did the behavior or physical problems last before you saw improvement? Any sleep improvement using these?

Thanks for any input.

We haven't used those, but we have used Grapefruit Seed Extract. DD has GI yeast, and the GSE greatly helps with it. We just put a few drops in her juice. She stopped having sleep disturbances within 2 days after we started it, and she starts having sleep disturbances and behavioral regression again if we forget to give it to her.

I bought a little thing of Oregano oil to try too since I heard it was good to rotate them, but it has an extremely strong taste that is not compatible with juice, so I do not think I'd be able to get DD to take it. If your child isn't a terribly picky eater, then you might be able to add it to foods like soup or dipping sauces.

If you find you have chronic problems with bacteria and yeast, as is apparently common, consider looking into this diet, which addresses dysbiosis: http://www.pecanbread.com

We're putting DD on this diet as soon as she is willing to eat more of the "legal" foods (We're trying various recipes until we find some that she will eat; I don't want to starve her into submission and right now she is only eating one or two menu items that would be legal.)

Moving this to Health and Healing. There are a lot of people in this forum who know about "gut" issues. Good luck!
