My 18 mos old ds has a fever (around 100) and is not eating (but nursing lots), just acting very miserable, poor guy. He had one bite of solids this morning and threw up immediately. Just wondering what others do for this kind of common illness? I've just given him vit C, Echinacea, lots of mama milk and cuddles so far. He's getting good naps in.

Also, I don't treat a (safely low) fever, I trust that it is the body working to fight something. But how long do you let a fever go before worrying?

Thanks! I still feel new at this mama thing.

You are doing everything right. He will get better. Slow sips of water help sometimes, but it has to run it's course. No solids until he is better. He will continue to throw it up. Just makes sure he rests and he will be okay. If he gets dehydrated, then you will need to try some sea salt water. Otherwise don't worry.
