I know this should not be in this forum, but I know you ladies, and I know you will have some ideas for me. So heres the OT problem;

This is all about my period. I am not sure how to fix it, or if I should even bother. After my last baby, I didn't have a period for about 9 or 10 months even though I was still EBF it came back anyway. But this time around it was much different, and it seems to be getting worse. I always have my period start at around 23 days, not the normal 28, so there is that, although it not much of a problem, except just a pain in the rear to have 15 or 16 periods a year instead of 12 or 13. Anyway, starting in the spring, I have had this couple days of just spotting, and than I will get the regular heavy duty period that lasts about 4 days, so at this point I am having a period for about a week. Fine. Whatever. But the last two times, I have spotted for about a week, and THAN got the heavy duty for another week, so we're talking TWO weeks of some kind of period: . NOW this is really bugging me, b/c than I only get about TWO weeks of nothing, and able to enjoy my DH ......if you kwim. Neither of us feel sexy when I have anything going on down there. SO.......WHY is this happening?? And WHY is it getting to be more of a pain???

A little back ground, I have the copper IUD, no estrogen released. And my diet has only gotten better, not worse. This is my 3rd IUD, I had one put in after all of my babies, and never had any kind of issues. I am 31, so I don't think this could be early menopause, although my mother went through early menopause (started around 42), and is now on the natural soy estrogen cream.

I just don't know what to do about it. Yes, it is annoying, but it messes up my sex life, and DH and I enjoy our sex life.......*blushing!* Maybe some of you have heard of this happening? Is there any herbal or holistic remedies that any of you can suggest?? I am willing to try anything. I am steps from calling my midwife and asking to be put on the pill just to get me regular......AND I DON'T WANT TO DO THAT, I know that is all just bad stuff!!!

HELP ME LADIES!!!!!

unfortunagly, that can be a "side effect" of any IUD its also one of the reasons its contradicted in my case, because i already have long heavy painful periods, and the IUD can make it worse.

It's IUD. Hormones or no hormones, but it's a foreign body in your uterus, and your uterus doesn't like it. I can bet, if you take it out, you will notice a significant differentce in your periods.

It's just the American dictionary isn't English, so its weird

I was at a conference in Alaska, and dropped my rubber and was scrabbling around on the floor, and one of the men asked what the problem is, and so I asked if they could see if my rubber was under their chairs.

They all went red and tried to find a window to gaze out of....

Half an hour later, someone told me what the "difficulty" was... and I was "What? Don't they have a dictionary around here?" The answer was "Yes, but not an Oxford dictionary."

no, but you used to be able to tell your dr that you were using that as your BC and they would prescribe them, and you could get like 100 for $10.

Oh I say lots of weird things.

My swearing is not necessarily easily understood.... unless you know medieval words that date from around shakespeare's time.

The problem with being on an American board is that if I accused people of talking bafflegab they would have to sit and work it out.

Words like obsquatulate, tantiffy and other words which are pretty much part of my stock vocabulary with people I know, aren't even considered for this board. Though it would be easy to insult someone, and they would never know

OK. Well I cannot use condoms, rubbers, or gumboots. I am allergic. And the natural ones are not effective. At least not enough for us. Is there any kind of natural remedies that may help me with the spotting for days on end? If that was not around I could deal with the every 23 days, and lasting a week, but now going to TWO weeks is getting ridiculous. What other forms of BC are out there that don't include the pill, or an injection? Any ideas?

Maybe I should have DH get fixed!!!!!!

But we haven't reached that "I AM ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE WE ARE DONE" stage. Kwim?

What about vitamins, minerals, herbals, anything that could help me to get regular?????

When my cycle was wonky I started drinking at least 8 oz of Red Raspberry Leaf Tea a day. It helped wonderfully. My cycle regulated in about 3 months. I haven't had to re-regulate it since, and I've had a m/c and a baby since then!
