Have you read either of these books?

OMG they are AMAZING!!!

Is anyone else attempting to use her supplement information, etc?

I just went and bought a bunch of supps today at Vitamin Shoppe and I'm going to start on the whole diet (meaning "how you eat" not "how you DON'T eat" LOL!) and supps program next week

me! Wow. Tyrosine is so my friend. I used to take adderall bc I'm really ADD (just ask my husband! ) but quit when I got pg, and now Im nursing, so it's still out of the question.

It makes a huge, huge difference.

All of it does.

Haven't gotten to the diet cure yet...I think we'll go there next, though...

Have you made major dietary changes or just added the tyrosine? Have you added any other of the supps she talks about? I haven't read Mood Cure, because Diet cure has all the mood stuff in it as well. Just curious as I just spent a FORTUNE on supps and am hoping it is the miracle she says it is!

I spent a fortune on supps too (from the Mood Cure). They did not work for me, and in fact 1 supp (5-HTP) made me quite ill. But as they say, YMMV.

I got a lot out of parts of the Mood Cure, but there were also parts I though poorly researched & unscientific, and on the whole, I was bothered by the "miracle cure" approach. If only things were that simple....

There's quite a lengthy discussion about The Mood Cure in the PPD forum. Here's a link. Good stuff, that!

Well, I cut out the crap that I eat-I mean, ate.
Like most candy-except chocolate. I still drink coffee because I like it. (I have eggnog flavored creamer )
I eat more fish and veggies than I used to.

But I still feel so much more, "on" than I used to.

Less foggy.

I take 5HTP every now and then; extra magnesium too.

Can't afford to buy much else right now, but maybe later...

I've had some success with the supplements recommended in The Mood Cure. The 5-htp helped a lot. I haven't really followed the diet b/c I can't afford all of the meat she recommends (it's too expensive when you buy organic).

One thing I'd suggest . . . rather than just go off the questionnaires to determine what you need, ask your doctor/ND for an amino acid blood serum test. See what you're actually deficient in and then you'll know for sure what to supplement.
