I am definetly having some issues.... and since I don't want to end up divorced.
I really need to get some help.

I am not fond of the idea of taking Paxil or Zoloft while BF'ing.
Does anyone know of any natural anti-depressants?

1. Exercise. Daily.

2. Get fresh air daily.

3. Get sunshine daily.

4. Take your B vitamins, especially vitamin B6

5. Eat more oats.

6. Consider the following supplements. ETA that says that ginseng and St. John's wort are safe for breastfeeding but you should do your own research as I have heard contradicotry reports on these:
  • Ginseng
  • St. John's wort
  • Bee pollen
  • Skullcap
  • Rosemary

Minerals help also...Kelp as a supplement is good.One of the minerals that you need may be lithium and magnesium and kelp may be a good source.

I know it sounds simple, but daily exercise and getting out in the sunlight everyday really works.

I just read that flax seed oil was good for depression. 2 TBLS daily. The omega-3 family is very good for you so it could be beneficial in many ways. I use 2 TBLS flax seed meal (like flour) on a bowl of oatmeal every morning and it's taken away my constipation, it also lowers bad cholesterol.

Noni juice is GREAT. And exercise! I can't say enough about OUTDOOR exercise.

Also, if you are def having serious issues, you will be a happier momma if you are taking even a MINIMAL dose (50 mg) of Zoloft. Talk to your doc; visit the PPD site- it is fabulous and everyone is sooooo supportive.

Before you go to a pill doctor, try eliminating sugar and refined flour from your diet. Sugar can really be a bully emotionally. Also, caffeine can drag you down. We have started a support group in the Personal Growth forum for those of us that need a little encouragement to give up the coffee.

I agree with those who posted exercise and sunshine. Also, drink lots of water. Dehydration can be a cause of depression.

Take some time for yourself to meditate and clear your mind each day. Don't dwell on the negative. You will attract negativity to you.
