I just ordered bifido from Kirkman Labs (needed soy and dairy free version) for my 3 month old dd. It is apparently powder inside capsules....how do you give protiotics to an infant? and how much?

My first thought is to open the capsule and give her just a little bit of the powder....but should I be measuring it in some way? Can I save the remaining powder to use on additional days? Do you give it once a day, just before a feeding?

Thanks in advance

break it open and put some on your nipple. For the amounts, I'd base it on what the bottle says.

I mix it with a little water and use one of the syringes from the drugstore to squirt it into baby's mouth.

i'm doing a powder probiotic with my newborn... ours said 1/16 tsp for once a day for newborns. i add it to expressed breastmilk and use a dropper (from a tincture bottle) to squirt it in his mouth. i'd say to just refridgerate the powder you don't use that day...

Wet your nipple, and dust the probiotic powder on it.
