My son (5 years ols) was bitten last night and it looked like a reg mosquito bite under his eye and this morning it was very puffy and swollen. It went down and then he itched it again and now puffy again. What can I do to help the swelling?
My poor lil guy even mosquito bites on his body get swollen and this looks like someone hit him under the eye.

Ice and time. You might try some ibuprofen for its anti-inflammatory properties. And/or possibly some benadryl.

hope he feels better soon! That's so annoying....

Thanks mama, I will try the ice (although he does not like ice on/near his eye, who would?!) and see what its doing tomorrow and maybe try the anti-inflammatorys, I just would rather it go away without drugs. DARN MOSQUITO'S!:

IME those go away quickly. One day of really swollen and by the second day you have to really look to find it.

We bought a benadryl stick at Target when my daughter had a huge mosquito bite in the exact same place - just dabbed the stick on the bite and it was almost completely gone by morning! It was cheap too - under $2.

When dd was 2 she got a mosquito bite right between the eyes and both eyes got swollen. She looked like a rooky boxer.

I called a nurse who also said that you kind of just have to wait for it to go away. We did 1/2 doses of benadryl at night for a couple days.

Sadly, my DD's mosquito bites tend to linger quite awhile - and the skeeters really like her too. She hated them but I have just told her that she must be really sweet for the darn skeeters to like her so much!

Your DD sounds like my son and me. They LOVE us and they linger as well with big welts! We are extra sweet though so your DD must be as well.
