Sorry this is quick. 2 year old woke up yesterday (Tues. morning) with eye totally swollen, barely can see out of that eye, today it's even worse, woke up completely swollen shut with some blood/clear liquid that slightly crusted at the eyelash line. (it was sliiiiightly red friday/sat/sun/slightly puffy monday)
took her to the clinic yesterday and they said it was an allergic reaction to something (though it's only one eye) and to take benadryl 3 times a day and in 24 hours take her to her ped or back to the clinic ..if it's worse they will put her on PREDNISONE
So today it's worse, with the benadryl, it hurts her and it's so puffy/red/swollen/blood (not lots) at the corner of her eye..
her UA violation Ped is 'leaving early' today and wont take her in so I gotta head back to the clinic again which means another doctor as they switch doctors daily...
what could this be? dh is convinced it's not an allergic reaction, me i have no clue.
the possible allergens: she ate smthg with shrimp in it monday afternoon, played with makeup/sparkles put on her eyes on sat., milk she's been eating all week (we RARELY buy it so this is really diff. for her)..
Help please. I have to take her in SOON but am scared of them prescribing prednisone.
