I posted in breastfeeding challenges as well. Just wondering if anyone here has suppliment, homeopathic, nutritional support suggestions for staving off a mastitis infection?

I would think super good healthy food would do that automatically but dd had the worst mastitis 3 or 4 times with her first child and not one bit of problem with her second. And she eats very healthy.

She basically thinks it's the way the first latched on and never emptied the breast. The second one took every drop. Just her opinion.

Diet is key, but if you are facing an acute infection homeopathic phytolacca 30C every half hour for six doses and three times a day after until symptoms clear. Lecithin granules (internal) as well as a castor oil pack (external) will reduce inflammation and emulsify the plug.
