is this a symptom of high blood pressure? if not, any idea what it is?

i also have a bit of shortness of breath, but i think it is pregnancy related.

Is your face bloated? Can you see a difference? If you press on your skin does it spring back up as usual?

not bloated. bounces back. it just just a feeling. nothing observable.

Not that I know of. But you could get yourself a B/P device and measure it when you feel like that. You should take the B/P when you are totally relaxed and have been silent for a while. That gives your true bp.

As for the shortness of breath - are you nervous or worried?

is it possibly your sinuses?

i actually have a brand new blood pressure cuff. dh is trying to figure out how to take it. i just wrote down the ranges. so this should be resolved soon. though he's a bit reluctant.

the shortness of breath been happening (most noticeable) at the end of the day when i'm lying down, reading to the kids.

please don't freak at the suggestion but could it be bells palsy? (it is somewhat common during pg)

okay, gotta google.

ETA: right now it doesn't seem like it is. (i'm proud of myself for refusing to apply every mentioned symptom to my case! yay!)

okay, definitely not blood pressure. we measured twice, and it is 100/60, or somewhere there.

my face is feeling better. it was very pronounced for about 1h, but now the feeling is almost gone.

what did you eat today? could it be an allergy?

I just came back to say that it is most likely a reaction to something you ate.

Most likely culprit - MSG, some preservative, or food coloring.

OMG!! food coloring! i never eat anything with food coloring. but today at the kids' drop-in they were having a valentine's cake--pink and red. i removed the coloring from my kids' slices. they all thought i was nuts, so i said it gives them a reaction (they never had any, so i don't even know). then when i was offered a slice, i even joked, saying, ah well, as long as my kids are safe, i don't mind eating some poison.

i can't believe people eat this sh*t regularly.

well, the good part is we figured out how to measure blood pressure!

thanks for the responses, everyone!
