Dried uva ursi herb can be made into a strong infusion by steeping 1 ounce of herb in one quart of boiling water. This should steep for 4 to 8 hours or overnight. Alternatively, uva ursi tincture could be used. According to herbalist Susun Weed, dose is 1 cup of the infusion or 10 drops of tincture, 3-6 times daily initially, then 1-3 times daily for 7-10 days. For chronic cases, eliminate all forms of sugar and sweet fruits.
Pure unsweetened cranberry juice is excellent as well. This can be drunk in combination with uva ursi.
