When the child breaks out in the rash, the virus is no longer a problem and that's why the child does not act sick. The rash will fade within a short time.
That holds true for any viral infection.
I can't tell from the picture what it is. I never really worry about a rash or which one it is. There are many viruses that cause rashes once they are defeated.
