Can you all take a look at our vitamin regiment and LMK where you think I need to pick up the slack?

Generally, we eat a good and varied diet. We do eat meat, although I try to have enough options that I don't have to eat the meat if I don't want to. A typical supper will have a raw veggie, a cooked veggie and a fruit dish, along with the meat and a starch.

So, here are the supplements that each of the kids takes:

DS - 4
Colloidal Silver
B12 liquid suspension
Nordic Naturals Fish Oil
Kids Multi-Vitamin
Mineral Supplement

DD - 18 months
Colloidal Silver
NN Fish Oil
Kids Multi

I can't get DD to take the B12 or the minerals - she just flat out refuses. I can add them to a smoothie, which I do a couple of times a week.

Any thoughts?

I would add probiotics for sure unless you eat a good variety of cultured/fermented foods.

Thank you. We really only eat yogurt, not really anything else. We don't do a TF diet at all.

Why are you giving your children colloidal silver on a daily basis?

Well, I just started the silver this month and actually, will probably take it out and start again in the winter when I really want it's infection fighting qualities. I did a regiment of it this month b/c we traveled three out of four weekends in June on the airplane and I wanted to avoid any colds or viruses we might pick up.

Colloidal silver is really not to be taken as an everyday preventative thing, IMO, it is a strong antibiotic and can definitely negatively impact the body's natural ecology. I wouldn't even use it as a preventative supplement to avoid so-called pathogens either, if you feel the need to give your children an "immune booster" -- personally, I think that the immune system in the way you are envisioning it is somewhat of a mirage -- then ensuring they have a diet with plenty of vitamin C would be a better way to go (IMO). Save the silver for major infections (healings) that are causing significant difficulty to the body.

I wasn't really asking for a debate on what they're taking and I don't appreciate the insinuation in your post.

Perhaps you and I are just going to have to agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Wow touchy. I wasn't insinuating anything, just expressing my opinion on the prophylactic use of colloidal silver, but I am cool with disagreeing. You of course are perfectly free to give your children whatever you see fit, I personally wouldn't give my children any of the supplements you give yours. Anyway, many people disagree with me on this board also, so I am used to it.

You may be interested in reading this post if you are concerned about your optimizing your children's "immune system" with nutrition and supplements, its on the vaccine board, and it is very long.
