My 5 year old dd has had liquid (and I mean liquid) stools for 3 days now.. There is no visible blood in it, and she is not having any pain or stomach cramps. This is really not like her. She is a very picky eater, and her diet has not changed at all. What can I do for her? I am getting really worried. This evening I began not giving her dairy at all, and we already try and stay away from sugars..

Please help me out

Have you tried the BRAT diet? Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast.

Sounds like some sort of stomach bug. You could try Culturelle, it is a probiotic that is supposed to crowd out bad bacteria. S. Boulardii is a good yeast that has helped firm up my stool at times, but it all depends on what the cause of the problem is.

I am not sure if it needs to a specific probiotic (?)-- if not, my peds practice recommended bioGaia. According to her, they have it now at target/walmart (in fridge behind counter). It's very easy to take/give, and it has definitely helped my DD.

So thankful for our healthy baby boy, born Easter morning, 2010!

Culturelle is known to help fight off bad bacteria, I highly recommend to try it. I find mine in the refrigerator section in Whole Foods or cheaper at Vitamin Shoppe. They probably have it at most health food stores.
