Okay, I have not lost my mind and forgot this is MDC, and I do a lot of things naturally. But now I am in a different situation. I suffer from horrible migraines and the ONLY thing that works is either Maxalt or Imitrix. I don't love taking such strong medication, but I only have to take it about once every two months (but sadly, usually 2 days in a row). I cannot find a rhyme or rhythm to what causes these migraines.

But the bottom line is that these medications are almost $300 for a 2-3 month supply.

Does anyone know of a resource where I can get discounted prescription drugs? Thanks so much.

Sometimes if you contact the drug company directly they will offer a discount.

Still a sleepy mama to my fabulous 2 year old girl

I can't be certain, but I've heard that Costco has the best price for prescription drugs. I haven't used their pharmacy, but that is what I've been told. Imitrix is on their Costco Member Prescription Preferred Drug List.

If you have a Costco in your area it might be worthwhile to talk to them about membership and what price your drugs would be with them. Good luck!

I believe you do not have to be a member at Costco in order to use their pharmacy. It has something to do with laws about pharmacies, it's not just a Costco policy (in case there are other companies in your area that have membership fees and pharmacies). You'd probably have to mention it at the front door in order to get in, that you're just going to the pharmacy.

I don't have a suggestion, but I wanted to commiserate. I used to take MaxAlt for migraines. At the time, the pills were approximately $15 each. When I had a migraine, I would take out the pill package and think to myself, "Is this a $15 headache?"

Sometimes (but not often!), I would put the medication back in my handbag.

DS, 10/07. Allergies: peanut, egg, wheat. We've added dairy back in. And taken it back out again. It causes sandpaper skin with itchy patches and thrashing during sleep. Due w/ #2 late April, 2012.

I used this patient assistance program a couple of months ago when I was unemployed and uninsured. I was able to get my Lamictal for only $10 for 3 months! It's normally almost $200 for one month. Imitrex is on the list. Good luck!
