I've been having a TON of lower back pain. Like I'll stand up, and I feel like I'm going to collapse because I get shooting pains. Also, I have severe pain right in the area where like my pubic hair starts - I guess that's my pubic bone.

Am I just being a baby? Or does this mean that baby has dropped, and that's why I'm feeling so much more pressure down there?

I would think it means the babys dropped...I have crazy lower back pain, pelvic pain and I get shooting pains when I get up in the morning...barely able to walk!

I also get crazy pains in my right hip/leg since the babe likes to nestle in there!

I dropped at about 28 weeks the midwives said...So im one of those women that drop and dont get a baby out of the deal..hopefully if you have dropped you wont have to deal w the pain for very long before labour kicks in

Ditto on the hip pain when I get up!

I don't know what it means. This is my third and I'm still like "What's this? Is that Braxton Hicks?" I feel like I've forgotten everything. Ihave been wondering last three days if lo has dropped because my heartburn stopped and I'm all the sudden feeling some uncomfortable cxt in my low back. And I don't feel him in my ribs. So I'm thinking the same. I guess it's because each preg. is so different, pregnancy, labor, delivery. All different!

My baby dropped a few weeks ago, and yesterday the midwife was exclaiming that the baby had dropped even more, because I was measuring at 37 cm even though I was 39 and 2 days. I have crazy pressure everywhere down there, and can eat more at one time than I'd been able to for a long time. : Still having heartburn, though.

However, I don't have low back pain, and that was the question my midwife asked me when I asked her if my baby seemed to be anterior or posterior. I got the sense that low back pain at this point might be an indication of a posterior baby, but I don't know that for sure. FWIW, she that my baby is more anterior.

It sounds like your baby is posterior too. Mine is. I've been trying to follow the suggestions on www.spinningbabies.com to get her to turn though.

spinning babies stuff does help, my little one turned just in time - i didn't have too much back labor

with the weird pelvic discomfort, the one thing that helped me a lot was sitting on a yoga ball and rolling around - i guess that helped things shift into place or something..
