It's been slow here lately....due to obvious reasons .

Are there any pregnant mamas left from January? If so, how are you holding up? I'm sure you're looking forward to having pregnancy behind you--take heart, it won't be long now!

How are the new mamas?

We're doing well. Can't believe Myra is a month old already! She's such a great sleeper, I'm so thankful (DD1 was not! ) Shes getting to be a better nurser now too, which is nice. She's just growing so much, I'm enjoying it. DD1 turned 2 5 days after her birth, and all in all is doing really well. She likes her baby sister, and is starting to understand that baby needs more attention for eating etc. and she's adjusting.

mom to Reaghan born underwater into midwife's hands 1/17/07 & Myra born surrounded by doulas and midwife at home 1/12/09. Birth Educator, and Photographer, Baby #3 Coming May 2013!

We're settling in nicely. A few bumps in the road with our 3 year old and 10 year old, but nothing too serious...
Phineas will be 4 weeks on Tuesday and even after having 2 older boys, I'm surprised at how fast the time flies...
Phin is fitting seamlessly into our crazy, loud family and I couldn't feel more blessed or thankful.

I hope the rest of the January mamas are doing well and finding their footing with these new Capricorn and Aquarius babes.

Molly, mama to my 3 sweet boys.

We are finally able to relax a little. DD has been suffering from jaundice. She had a 3 day hospital stay, follwed by weekly visits to Dr and ER. Her levels are dropping and down to 14 so I'm pleased.
My 17 month old DS has become more 'hands' on, so I'll be looking for things to do with him. On the 23 I'll have to start dropping/picking up my DC from school with newborn and toddler in tow I'm dreading this, but it has to be done.

We're doing well. Y'all aren't going to believe this, but my dh gets twelve weeks' paid paternity leave. I know, unbelievable! We are really fortunate. Anyway, that is helping tons. I know we have the six week growth spurt coming up, so I'm doubling meals here and there to freeze for those rough days. Just having him take care of the three year old so I can take care of the baby and the household stuff is really great. Makes me appreciate my big girl more, too, since I'm not constantly entertaining her.

My son is 1 week old today, we have not really settled in yet but im sure it just takes time, I am dealing with some baby blues issues right now so hopefully I will get over them soon. Other than that everything is going good. Hope everyone is doing great!

I'm impressed you've found your way to a computer at 1 week! I definately gets easier, I'm just finding out.
My daughter is 3 weeks old today. Today is the most normal I've felt so far. I swear it takes about a year before I really get back to normal though.

My sons are doing great with their baby sister! It is so adorable that they want to give her kisses all the time. No jealousy issues or anything. Of course the fact that my DH is a SAHD helps tremendously. And I'm off until the baby is 11 weeks old. Our biggest challenge (besides recovering from C/S and adjusting hormones) is that we've had a wave of some virus going through our house. DS1 and DH are pretty much over it now, DS2 is at it's peak, I'm just behind the curve, and the baby has no sign of it, thank God!

Also the baby lost a lot of weight after birth. (All my kids do, but they're born very large.) She was 10lb 6oz at birth and ten days later she was 8lb 9oz. A few days ago she was 8lb 12oz. So she's on her way back up. Fortunately my/her doctor doesn't freak out about this. She's nursing and eliminating well. We don't even have another check-up for her until 1 month from now.

Mom to 5 amazing kids! (DS8, DS7, DD4, DD2 and DS0)

It's so nice to hear how everyone is doing!

I've definitely had more of the baby blues this time around...Emmie is 6 weeks tomorrow. I think it's the sheer responsibility of running a household, having a somewhat part time job (I keep the books for my dh's office, and it is tax time), homeschooling my older 2, having a very spirited 2 year old, blah, blah, blah . Could I feel any sorrier for myself?! When all your work if 'family' work, you don't get time off, KWIM? So I think that + sleep deprivation has really gotten to me...but I know it will pass.

I'm really enjoying the baby, she is very sweet and cuddly. Her newborn phase is almost over, I can see her changing so much now.

I also feel a bit fat right now--I lost most of the baby weight, but I still have 8 lbs that is just stuck around my middle (well, there might be a lb or 2 in my boobs ). It makes it tough to get into my clothes, but the maternity stuff doesn't fit either. I'm hitting the treadmill tomorrow--a little exercise might do me good.

Of course, eating 2000 calories in cookies in one day probably isn't doing much for my figure .

Now all my kids are fighting, gotta run .

I'm almost afraid to say it, lest I jinx us, but we're AWESOME!

BF was a little rough for the first two weeks - we had to work on a deeper latch and overcome my very sore nipples - but is going great now. We co-sleep so night nursing isn't too bad... getting to bed is a bit of a challenge, because I have a bit of an oversupply and it frustrates her when she wants to comfort nurse to sleep, but we work through it without anything getting too bad. I feel great - I wasn't sore for very long, my stitches healed well, bleeding is over, no baby blues, AND I am about five pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight!

I am a lucky woman. I am able to stay home while DD brings home the bacon, so I get to spend every moment with my little bug, and I love it. It is also SO nice to be able to sleep in with her, nap during the day, etc... I don't really feel like I'm experiencing the new-parent-zombie-thing I heard so many horror stories about. I am relishing it because I know it won't be so easy someday when we have two (or more)!

DD is a happy, healthy, strong little girl. She is very alert, wants to sit upright/hold her head up CONSTANTLY when she's awake, and is starting to babble. She is going to be a handful... but so much fun.

I'm horribly ill with mastitis..for the second time in 5 weeks. I got it all the time with DD. I'm very tempted to quit BF.

I've never had mastitis, but my SIL did. I know the pain of sore cracked nipples and engorgement, but I can't imagine what you're going throughs . I hope that you heal soon and are able to continue to BF.

Things are going well here too. DS will be 2 weeks toady, and thankfully the older 3 love him. Kisses all around which can be a little much when Jet is nursing or trying to sleep, lol!
Me, I am not so good because my c/s is infected and I am on 2 abx. Yuck. With Jet waking so much, even though we cosleep, I have a headache everymorning from lack of sleep I sound like Weny Whiner.

Things are going as well as I expected. DH returned to work 4 days after we got home. The next day all of my other kids came home, and it has been wild ever since. We have long days of twin on twin violence right now. One of the boys is very jealous, and he takes it out on his twin and his big sister rather than me or the baby. I have just about reached capacity on the whining/screaming thing, and my house is never clean, but other than that, things are going pretty well.

Mali is doing very well. She had a tongue tie which was clipped on Wednesday. The doc who clipped her diagnosed thrush as well, so she is being treated with Gentian violet, and I am taking oral medication. I flirted with mastitis for 48 hours after getting a plugged duct from an old nursing bra, but after 24 hours of round the clock nursing, and scalding hot showers it passed. My other 3 kids have been sick for 2 weeks with a nasty cold/fever thing. Hopefully the coughing will pass soon, and everyone will be sleeping better.

I just reread this post, and it all sounds rather awful, but really it has been pretty good. My friends brought meals over for 2 weeks, and we have been getting out a little bit. I can't wait for warmer weather so we can all get the fresh air we need.

Mama to 4 darlings. A ('03), O and K ('06), A ('09), and wife to M since 2002.

We're doing pretty well, Lincoln weighs over 11lbs now which is amazing to me! He's only 5 weeks old, and he's grown so much! Seeing him grow so well from my milk has been awesome - I love BF'ing him! He's been a little fussy the past few days, so we're trying to figure out whats going on since he's cried more in the past few days than the rest of his life combined. He's amazing though, and our whole family is absolutely in love with him. We're working on not overstimulating him - I need a sling or something that he likes so that he can cuddle with me while we're visiting people and not have people in his face the whole time. He's such a little love though - so cuddly, and so sweet, its great.

I'm doing better, but my stitches are still there and they still hurt. I'm just not healing up very well and I'm getting impatient - which doesn't help! Slowly but surely I'll get better I guess. I really need to go grocery shopping but I don't have a sling that I like yet. I went to a LLL meeting the other day though and am really excited that I met some really great people! One of them said she would meet up with me so that I could try out all the different baby carriers that she has to find one I like!! I'm excited about it b/c I don't know many people in my area and really want to make some other mom friends so that I have a social life. And I have a few friends coming over tonight which is going to be fun and will probably do me some real good. I'm having a few baby blues issues, but my boyfriend is babysitting right now so that I can get some homework done (juggling baby and school is HARD for both of us), and seeing friends always puts me in a better mood.
