For Boys we liked:
For Girls we liked:
Things could change, though. This was our list last time around and we still have a ways to go before this one arrives in January!
Molly, mama to my 3 sweet boys.
Iowaorganic- mama to DD (1/5/06), DS1 (4/9/07), DS2 (1/22/09), DS3 (12/10/10), DD2 (7/6/12) and a new kid due in early 2014
I'm convinced this is a boy, and earlier this evening Madame Whomever concurred.
DH is pushing for Paul, but our last name begins with an L and I hate how it runs together.
He also likes Everett and Graham, both of which I like, but now he's saying only as middle names.
We like Abby, but not Abigail. I tried to talk him into Addison and call her Addie, he hated that.
Every name I like, DH poo-poos. Yet he will not just let me veto Paul and be done with it.
We had such a hard time coming up with girls names last time. DH is so picky. He wants "uncommon but not contrived sounding" whatever that means! The middle name will definitely be Frances (my sister's middle name). Here's what I like so far:
Simone Frances *my favorite*
DH doesn't hate them but thinks we can do better. I love Raven but given the rules of genetics, our baby will have blue eyes and I just can't imagine a blue-eyed Raven.
Girl's: Aviendha Jane (or Jayne...we haven't figured out the spelling yet...)
If our baby is a girl we are planning on Helena del Carmen, a tribute to both of our grandmothers. In Spanish she will probably be called Elena more often than not. If the baby is a boy we have not idea what we will name him!
Mama to Gabriel (1-10-2009) and newborn Helena (10-9-2011) with DP Julio. ...cloth diapering, attachment parenting, infant EC-ing, etc.
So if we have a boy I will tell the girls name and vice versa. I don't think we can find out til Sept though We are still working on middle names.
weve pretty much decided on Makarya(means Capricorn..since the babys due in Jan)(and we go with M first names)
BUT thats the first name and we need a D middle name and the baby will be called by that name
Im an A, dh a B, ds a C so were stuck!
I lvoe Dharma
My husband loves Daria(makes me want to puke!
Its hard cause we LOVE our sons name so much we used up the best it seems
Tina ~ SAH- head Mama to -
DS (07/'03), DD (05'05), DS, unplanned UC (01/'09), DD (06/'11) ...
SURPRISE! New little one, due Sept. 2013
I just can't decide on spelling for Kalie... somtimes I put two l's. But I think I will likely stick with Kalie.. or Kallie... lol
Proud Single Mama, Birth & Postpartum Doula
Student, Aspiring CNM
DD ~ 1/7/09 DS ~ 9/22/10
Eir (middle name, family name)
Georgia (my fave)
Rhiannon (I don't like this one, but DH has a thing for Stevie Nicks)
Our names are very traditional, family-inspired names.
Boy: John Matthew (five generations of dh's paternal line are first name John with a different middle name. He has a huge family and there are no Matthews yet. We'd call him Matthew)
Girl: Mary Elizabeth or Audrey Elizabeth (My sister is Mary. DH's sister is Elizabeth, so he prefers Mary Elizabeth, calling her Elizabeth. I prefer Audrey Elizabeth, but love the idea of honoring my sister, so I could go either way. I want to see the baby before I decide, I think.)
Does it go With Anneliese, Kieran, and Owen, or just sound odd? I am having the worst time coming up with a boys name this time. My girls name sounds good with the others, I like Adela Claire. Addy or Della for a nickname works with my other kid's names. Ugh, I still have to find a good middle name as well.
And you who seek to know Me, know that the seeking and yearning will avail you not, unless you know the Mystery: for if that which you seek, you find not within yourself, you will never find it without.
for a girl Edith (pron Adit) Grace
we like Dutch names. our dd is Liesbet.
We have middle names now (I think). My sister died last summer, so if we have a girl, her middle name will be Heather. If it's a boy, I think we'll use Headley/Hedley, which means a heather-filled meadow.
First names are still up in the air.
No clue at all. Not even one on the list.
Now that I see it written, I'm sure I don't like them together. Darn.
My mother's given name was Jo. Just Jo. She was adopted at 13 years of age and had her name changed to Mary.
Ella Jo ?
I guess I like it better than Elaine.
Our top pick girl's name the last two times (and we had boys) was Jenna. How about this:
I think I like that. I just like Ella better than Jenna at the moment.
What to do, what to do?
Mom to 5 amazing kids! (DS10, DS8, DD5, DD3 and DS1)
I also like Ariana. I truly love Ana, but DH nixed that due to knowing a few Anna's he didn't like. It is growing on him though!
No middle names, no boys names at all.
My oldest has that. My Dh nixed us doing that with all of them, but I love names and wished we would have.
Mama Jody: I love all of your names you have listed!!!
I am currently preg with baby #6 due jan11th-13th.
All our children have names that start with "B r" and a middle name after a rock star/ musician. This baby was a surprise and I wanted to break the mold and go with a whole different letter of the alphabet and midde name concept, but Dh says "no way" lol.
So far we have a:
boy Briar James 9/22/98 (James for James Hettfield of Metallica)
girl Brieanna Nikki 11/24/99(Nikki fir Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue)
boy Braeden Ozzy 10/23/02 (as if that one isnt obvious lol)
boy Bruce Alexander 11/23/04(ok, he was backwards... Bruce is for Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden)
Brooklynne Alma 4/21/06 (she didnt get the middle name tradtion cuz my g-mother's name was Alma and she passed b4 seeing this baby)
We don't plan on finding out what this baby is until the birthday so we need to have a name ready for either one. We have chosen: Broderick (Dh's name is Derick) for a boy, with a middle name of Robert since our dear family friend has that name and was just diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes; and we are pretty much undecided about a girl, which is what always happens! Lol. If I have to stick with "br" I like Brittain or Bronwynn, but have always wanted an "akira" or a "lily".
Best of luck to you all. Picking out that perfect name is one of the best part of being a parent! Blessings to you all!
