Every time I go to a friends house dd beeline's for their trains...but they are so darned expensive! So, I'm looking for something a little less expensive. I've posted on our freecycle board, but I'm not too hopeful.

Let me know if you have something...looking for brio/thomas the tank style. Does not have to be name brand...but just the kind that the tracks hook into each other.

Thanks!

If you have an ikea near you, they have a great little starter set for about 12 bucks! It might even be compatible w/the brio/thomas stuff, but I'm not positive.

Hi there, I have a set that I bought at Target a while back, it's wooden tracks and little wooden trains & some decorations like trees, etc. LMK if you're still looking...

I might be making a trip there next week. I'll let you know if I do.

Oh, and DH just came home from K-mart w/a Brio expansion pack and motorized engine and they work perfectly with the ikea set!

I dunno, it was $30 new and was used a couple of times, maybe $20 shipped (will be heavy) or do you have a FSOT list?

Cherimoya let me look at our wallmart/target stores here...if they don't have them, I would be interested.

All I have to trade would be some happy heiny pocket dipes...and looking at your kids ages, you probably won't need that, or won't soon. Is there something you're looking for? Maybe I have it and it's just not popping to mind.
