Hi Jenn!
Thanks for asking!

I am looking to give my cousin (also happens to be my closest friend) a ceremony to honor her pregnancy and bless her upcoming birth.......instead of a shower. She is due in November.

I already know I will be having people bring beads (and I'll supply beads for those who don't) to string a birth chain for her. www.blessingway.com has great ideas but I need more.

I have done 3 blessingways (I have no problem using that term, so forgive my total lack of PC) for friends and have ideas and books you can borrow if you'd like - I also have spices you can use for a footbath, sage to burn, henna you can use if you want to do her hand or feet or belly, etc. but you can purchase that stuff pretty easily too. If you check out my sig link - from my homepage there is a links page and I have lots of Blessingway links there as well. Feel free to PM me and we can chat or see if I have anything you need.

(I have 3 girls: 6, 4, 2 and I myself am a size XL/14-16 mama so stuff for us is what I'd be ISO for a trade.)

WOHM married to SAHD, living the dream w/our: 3 girls (14,12,10) and 3 boys (7,5,3) and tie-breaker due Jan 2014

Amy, thank you for being so sensititve about your terminology. It's not PC to be anti-cultural appropriation, it's basic consideration.

I was at a friend's mother blessing last year and she did a quilt where everyone brought a square that they drew on (or embroidered, but not all us were that talented) and her mama sewed them together for a cute mini-quilt to hang on the wall.
