so yeah i know ultrasounds aren't always right but twice we asked i think it was at the 12 week and 22 week mark or so and they said girl...well today while making small talk the nursed asked if we knew what we were having. i of course said "a girl" then the dr. goes "who told you that?" i'm like you guys did... so the angle wasn't the best but i have pics of what looks to be a testicle. dear baby wouldn't turn to let us see the whole package but it looks way too big to be girl parts! the only thing dr could think of was the vulva having extra fluid but thought that was unlikely due to size and how it looked... well dh gets his wish! lol or maybe it will be a surprise at birth after all! and of course now i'm also wondering if anything could be wrong but i'm always worrying about that anyways. hmm i guess it won't be a Molly after all....

DOH, what a surprise!! Are they sure it just wasn't the cord this time around? I guess you'll have an extra surprise to look forward to at birth now. LOL!

It happened to me! I thought we were having a girl from about 20 weeks until they did a quick u/s a few weeks before he was born. Same conversation . . . they asked what I was having, I said, girl, and they said, "who told you that?" And it was MOST certainly a boy and not a girl!

Oh my gosh, that's exciting! You get to be surprised (which would alternately thrill and irritate the fool out of me).

We had a couple from our church who announced and named their baby boy from their 20 week ultrasound. The aunt made a beautiful personalized boy album just waiting for pictures. People bought outfits, etc. Then at 30 weeks--it's a girl! It was a shock to everyone--especially the dad. I'm glad he had 10 weeks to get used to the idea! It was one of those subtle things that played into me not wanting a sonogram.

We also are not announcing any names. When the baby comes if he or she doesn't fit the name we chose, it's a very simple thing to change. I'm STILL hoping that our baby will arrive with a name tag!

My hubby is still holding out for this possibility... although we had a pretty clear view of what appeared to be girl parts at our 24 week ultrasound. If we're wrong our son will have to put up with some serious pink
