I also have some sometimes have strange emotions while nursing. I also have times where I feel a bit nauseous. I blame hormones and exhaustion. I'm not sure if you found anything to work with your first babe. Sadness would be a hard emotion to have to deal with during breastfeeding so I hope you find some way of coping

I get minor anxiety while nursing- it started with Alena already. I make sure I am very well hydrated and have a distraction while she nurses.

I hope you find something that works for you!

dooney.

No advice, but I get really thirsty when I'm BFing. Maybe it has something to do with the sacrifice you're making to EBF--it really is a big commitment. I hope it gets better soon.

I get the same way and have with every child.

When she first latches on I get this wave of intense thirst followed by a sad or panicky feeling and sometimes nausea. It doesn't usually last the whole nursing session but it is an awful feeling.

ahdoula has really lit a fire under some doctors and experts because of that thread and others, it now has a name and a website: www.d-mer.org. It is undergoing research as well.
I am dealing ok with it. I will not seek medication; I don't think it will help. Knowing that it's my body, not my mind, really helps, as does knowing I'm not alone. I self-medicate with a dark chocolate kiss at each nursing session and in between as needed
