My (not regular, not OB) doctor ordered a quantitative hCG test because I'm spotting and had an early loss last time around. I had the first blood draw and she told me to come back in 24 hrs for a second. I thought that it had to be 48 hrs for the test to be accurate. I have the lab orders and I could just wait the 48. What would you all do?
It should double in 48 hours, but they could do the 24 then see if it increased by 50%. I'm not sure how accurate it'll be, but if you're bleeding, they probably don't want you to have to worry for an extra day. I'd take any increase as good news, then do another follow up.
Do you have any cramps or red blood? Personally, I might wait the extra day if not.
Hey Shannon, how'd it go? Did you get the results? I'm thinking of you and sending doubling vibes your way.
