Since this is my first pregnancy and I'm relatively new to MDC I was wondering what books/reading others could recommend for informative information about having a more natural pregnancy/birth? I'm trying to educate myself and make sure I make informed decisions throughout this process. Thanks.
Please do not read what to expect when you are expecting, ugh, I didn't care for the book. I know the other moms on here will have a wonderful list of books for you to read. I did not read anything by Ezzo either, yuck. I loved the book Attachment Parenting, which gives you many suggestions of other books to read, and there are a few books by Dr. Sears that are good.
I would highly recommend "The Pregnancy Book" by William Sears, MD. It is a month by month type of book that follows each month of your pregnancy. Dr. Sears also has books on attachment parenting, breastfeeding and a number of other books that have to do with parenting issues. I also love the Ina Mae Gaskin books, especially "Guide to Natural Childbirth".

Birthing from Within is pretty good. Anything by Michel Odent. Immaculate Deception 2. spinningbabies.com
I know there's other, but I can't think of what right now, too much pain.
On the parenting front Dr.Sears is good, plus 'How to Raise A Healthy Child in Spite of your Doctor' & 'What Your Doctor May Not Tell you about Circumcision'
for me, reading over the past post on MDC was a real help. you may even look through some of the old due date clubs and you can read their whole journey and it will give you some ideas of what to expect at what stage in the pregnancy.
i also read a Bradley method book. although i didn't actually use the bradley method in childbirth, i did get some useful knowledge about the logistics of birth.
i also read Emergency Childbirth which just tells you what can happen if you give birth without a trained assistant (which can be useful even if you aren't having a UC because you never know if you may not make it to the hospital on time or if the midwife arrives late )
Ina Mae's books and Dr. Sears books are all great.
