I read somewhere that for 5 days after HIB immunization the body can't respond to a natural HIB exposure. I think I also read that if one does become sick from a HIB exposure during those five days it's usually a pretty bad case. Can anyone confirm this or offer more insight?

I do remember reading in "The Vaccine Guide" by Randall Neusteadter that the after HIB vaccination, children are more at risk for contracting HIB.

The OLD HIB vaccine will temporarily result in a decrease of protective antibodies for 1-2 weeks, leaving the recipient at an increased risk for picking up an HIB infection. In 1994 the Institute Of Medicine revealed that:

Because immunization with Hib vaccines may lead to a transient decrease in protective antibody levels, unimmunized children at increased risk of colonization (household or day-care contact with individuals with recent cases of Hib infection) may require special [protective] measures." One Hib vaccine manufacturer states, "There have been rare reports to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) of Hib disease following full primary immunization."
They say the new conjugated vaccine will not do this:

I am not convinced however

If the people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny." Thomas Jefferson.
