I felt like I did good research and did the right thing, but now am kind of wondering if I should revisit.
The kids have had DT. I didn't get DTaP because I was afraid the Pertussis element might trigger any innate auto-immune disorders lurking in their genes to come to the surface.
That's all they've had.
Now, I don't even know if I can get them the DTaP shot. But I'm wondering if I was making a mountain out of a mole-hill on the Pertussis bacteria in the shot. Any input on this?
I am glad I waited to do any vaccines until they were both well over 2.
Does anyone know of good research on DTaP, specifically, the dangers of the shot itself?
The pertussis component is the most reactive portion of the vaccine.
As of 10/10 the DTaP had had 300 injuries and 74 deaths (from those seeking compensation from NVCP) and we all know this is a drop in the bucket. About half have been compensated and we also know how it is practically impossible to win in this system. You can also check VAERS to see how many adverse events have been reported for DTaP, keeping in mind this represents 1-10% of actual adverse events. It has one of the highest numbers of reported adverse events of all the vaccines. (highest is MMR and Chickenpox vaxes)
At 3 and 5 your kids would be out of the woods for any life threatening problems if they were to get pertussis. Personally I wouldn't touch any pertussis containing vaccine with a 10 ft pole.
