My daughter is almost 2 months old and got a couple vaccinations today. (rotavirus and a DTaP combo vaccine that also had Hib and Polio)

We declined the Prevnar vaccine for now as I'd like to research it a bit more.

Any thoughts (either for or against) on the vaccination?

There was a very recent news article regarding the fact that pneumonia rates have not declined since the introduction of the pc vaccine a decade ago. So, I'd say it's certainly not worth it.

If I vaccinated at all, I would NOT get Prevnar.

Seroptype replacement is one reason why Id decline this vaccine. Ingredients would be a major reason (as it is for all vaccines) as well.

Prevnar 13 covers just 13 of about 90 strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae that can sicken us. After Prevar 7 came out, other strains stepped in to become more troublesome, hence the need to expand and cover 6 more strains. Now watch...the same thing wil happen again and in a number of years there will be another version of Prevnar covering the strains that will now become more prevelant due to Prevnar 13. There are dozens of articles about this issue. Here are just a few
