My friend is non vax and sees this doctor.
Dana- wife to wonderful DH, and a non vaxed happy heathly 2 yr old!
Respectfully, why is this a contest? It would be more ethical simply to have a list of "MDC friendly doctors" rather than try to use the excuse of a contest to collect date and information, if thats what the goal is.
I have a very supportive ped who was very open to me delaying and selecting my vaxes and went through the process with me. However, I don't doubt for a minute that she would be very upset if i advertised her name all over a message board that has a strong anti-vax agenda. A general list of doctor recommendations would be ok, but advertising what these doctors do and don't do for us may not be appreciated. They are professionals, within a professional community, and I know in my own career, it wouldn't sit well with me. i.e. if i am a Propane Gas salesperson, I would not like if a customer told the internet about the giant discount I gave them as a favor or because of a good relationship with them.
Might i propose that, as with many nominations for public contests, that the people submitting the names and private experiences of their doctors simple ASK their doctor if its ok that they do so? Then again, if it was just a list of MDC friendly doctors available for recommendation (leaving out the private details), and not a contest, then no permission is necessary.
I don't think this board has a "Strong anti-vax agenda" at all. I disagree with this. I don't see anything wrong in sharing experiences and information about a doctor online. what is unethical about it? They way I see it it's just a bunch of people sharing their experiences - I don't see the problem. If a doctor doesn't want anyone to know that they support parental choice ie vaccination, then they shouldn't see parents that choose not to vaccinate their kids. Just as I'd tell the propane salesman not to give the discounts or do favors if they don't want anyone to know about it.

She is the pediatrician that first made me question vaccination. She is not completely for or against vaccines but is super supportive if you want to space/delay/ or just not vaccinate.

At a well child visit, Dr. O will tell you which vaccines the AAP recommends, and ask if you wish to have them done. If you say no, that's it. Zero pressure. If you want to delay certain vaccines, he's great about discussing the risk/benefits of each vaccine and helping you make an informed decision. We did a modified/delayed schedule with his advice and support. I have a number of friends who are no-vax and he's great with them too. He is the best doctor ever. He's also an AP parent with kids that EBFd and co-slept, a wife that is an IBCLC, and they homeschooled all of their kids up to at least middle school.
I'm moving posts that are not specific for the contest entry to the Technical Issues and Forum Information forum. This thread should host only contest entries. Thanks!

He is our pediatrician and has always been respectful about our choice not to vaccinate. We do most of the standard check-ups (minus the shots), and I have no complaints with how we have been treated by him and all the clinic staff.
Sandra Meyerson, MD
Concord Hillside Medical Associates/Harvard Vanguard
I would recommend Dr. Meyerson as being relatively tolerant, but not supportive of non-vax. She has been our pediatrician since both girls' births. While she is a more traditional practitioner and would prefer that we vaccinate on the AAP schedule, she tolerates our preferences (co-sleeping, EBF, selective vaccination) and doesn't pressure us.

Dr. marcellino was our ped when we lived in Lawrence (08 - Dec 10). He was amazingly respectful of my parenting, and repeatedly proved that he supported my choices and instincts regarding my children's health. Regarding vax, we discussed it at our first visit, I let him know that we do not vax, at some future point I may be open to selective/delayed schedule but that time was far far down the road, and he said, "You're the parent, I can tell you have researched this andhave made a thoughtful decision. Let me know if you want to discuss.it.further".
We left Lawrence in Jan 2011, and I really wished I could take Dr. Marcellino with us! He was fantastic in every way, and when we couldn't see him, his associates were respectful of his/my medical approach and decisions (as in, one pa started a minor hassle about vax but dropped it as soon as I told her Marcellino supported my vax plan. Etc)
Bonus points because he is super cute! :-P.
We're getting quite a nice list here. Thanks everyone!
We're extending the contest until September 31st so we can give everyone more time to gather more practitioners. Keep 'em coming!

She is our family doctor and she is awesome. In addition to being vaccine friendly she's totally pro home birth and attends births in the hospital, very supportive of unmedicated birth.
Terrell, Dr. William
Covington, LA 70433
He is our personal doctor and we did not vaccinate our baby who is now six. He is flexible with delaying vax and selective vaxing. Very respectful of natural parenting decisions and supportive of breastfeeding and limited meds in an area where such practitioners are very difficult to find.
Franklin, TN (near Nashville)
Both of my kids saw Dr. Kalb and CNM Sam Mulder. We were sad to leave, but we moved out of state. Dr. Kalb recommends NO vaccines. He expects parents to tell him what they want and will gladly talk about each one, but he will not push ANY vax on you. A naturally-minded, more holisitic ped. BFing/cosleeping friendly. <3

My daughter used this office for my grandson. They offered a flexible schedule. This was key for her because my eldest son, and her older brother Wes had a serious reaction to one of the vaccines back in 1983. Her cousin also had a serious reaction to the same vaccine in 1990.
Wamego Family Health Center
Dr. Roland Darey, M.D
711 Genn Drive
Wamego, KS 66547
Dr. Darey has been my children's doctor since they each were born. He won me over at our first appointment, I really felt I could trust him after the birth of my first (in which my newborn and I were mistreated.) He has been extremely supportive and sings praises, of our more natural parenting style, and respects my role as mother and primary decision maker for my children's health. The other Dr. and ARNP in the office have not received my decisions and parenting styles in the same manner.

She is my kids pediatrician and is fine with our delayed schedule. She is also okay with cosleeping. It is a doctors office based through a college so before you see her you often see someone else, and they can be rude and have made comments about co-sleeping and selective/delayed vaccination. i just ignore the first people in and talk to her.
