Interesting. Also lists bills that would further increase vaccine freedoms.

1. Remove or Prohibit Requirements (3 states):
A) Prohibit employers from requiring flu vaccines: CT
B) Prohibits flu vaccine requirement for school children: MI
C) Removes immunization requirement for community-technical colleges: CT

2. Add or Protect An Exemption (6 states):
A) Adds a conscientious or philosophical exemption: KS, NY, NJ, OR
B) Exempts children under 6 from Hep. B vaccine if the mother tests negative: NJ
C) Provides protections for parents who exercise a religious exemption: NY;
D) Expands religious exemption right: SD
E) Healthcare facilities must provide a religious exemption to flu shots: OK

3. Parents required to be informed of vaccine ingredients before a vaccine is administered: ME, MO

4. Requires labeling and consent for vaccines derived from aborted fetal tissue: MN

CM, Oregon shouldn't be on that list. They just replace a broad religious exemption with a strict personal belief exemption forcing exempting parents into pediatricians' exam rooms.irked.gif

Absolutely agree that Oregon does not belong on any list about expanding exemptions. They removed our religious exemption, unconstitutionally too I might add. greensad.gif

I am actually not THAT worried about Oregon, altho I agree, they REMOVED religious exemptions, unlike WA & CA. CA preserved religious exemptions and WA sorta did, altho it is very tight (like you need a letter from a pastor and basically to be a Christian Scientist).

However, Oregon Peds are WAY more likely to sign the required form than say Peds in the South East. I am still worried for the rural mama on Medicaid who thinks she HAS to only go to the one Ped in her town. But it is really shocking moving from the SE where Peds will just kick parents out of their practice and would NEVER sign some form that they would see as 'giving permission for exemptions' . . .
