Well, let me go on record as saying I think evolution is basically correct.

I don't agree with those who think otherwise, but I never harass them about it.

Trying to tie questioning vaccines to questioning other scientific doctrines is bollocks, and over reaching.

The earth is not flat

Evolution exist

the earth is not 6000 years old

questioning whether or not we should be injecting prophylactic pharmaceuticals into very young children is wise.

The thing is.. Science means knowledge. It's.. knowledge. Science is how to manipulate what we know about the world. For example.. CF4. is carbon tetrafluoride. The pKa of water is 15. The pKa of alcohol is between 10 to 15. The pKa of amines is ~35  (usually). This is science. It makes accurate predictions. It has the possibility of answering all the questions and nuances that we have about the universe.

Many people do not accept evolution, but in order to understand immunology, biology, paleontology, genetics etc, you need to understand evolution. In order to be a good biologist, you NEED to understand evolution.

Except vaccines deal strictly with evolution since the more we don't vaccinate, the higher proliferation the organisms will have which will cause a higher rate of mutations and can potentially mutate past current vaccines.

So yes. You need to understand evolution.

You and another new poster seem to be on the same evolution kick.  It is odd.

Google serotype conversion and vaccines.

Huh? You want her to make up terms? Why should she spoon feed you? As a biologist I am surprised you know  what sero conversion, also called sero replacement is?

No Mirzam. She wants me to google something. I have no idea what she is getting at but immunology delves DEEPLY with evolution. To say it doesn't is to not understand the subject matter.

Uh…no.

Don't google serotype conversions.  It is no skin off my back, but as a biologist I thought this would be an area that might interest you.

*sigh* I know what serotype conversion is. I do not understand what you're trying to insinuate in terms of how it disproves evolutions link or connection to immunology.

Sorry missed it, the religion of science.

Since science isn't a religion, your comment makes no sense. Science is a discovery of what goes on in nature and how to manipulate nature. As I said before. All the science classes I have taken in my life time dealt with what is actually occurring in nature. They describe a phenomena. There is no "religion" when it concerns science. Either something has significant evidence or it does not. There is no other way of 'knowing' anything outside of scientific investigation, since scientific investigation, the definition of, is to unravel the mysteries of reality.

No it isn't. It's an attempt to try to make science a religion in an attempt to discredit it or to discredit the results science comes up with. Sorry. But reality doesn't work that way.
