From the press release:

Quote:

The CDC whistleblower informant, who has worked for the government agency for over a decade, remarked to Dr. Hooker in phone calls: "We've missed ten years of research because the CDC is so paralyzed right now by anything related to autism. They're not doing what they should be doing because they're afraid to look for things that might be associated." The whistleblower alleges criminal wrongdoing of his supervisors, and he expressed deep regret about his role in helping the CDC hide data.

Thanks for sharing those links.

This makes me sick to my stomach. My child is not African American but we saw a big regression after his second MMR at 18 months (the first at 12 months) which led down the path to an ASD diagnosis.

Reminiscent of the truth and reconciliation program, I would be okay if whistleblowers (the first ones, not the ones that jump onto the bandwagon later) were given immunity. But the others such as Colleen Boyle etc should go to jail and left there to be forgotten and I don't mean the comfy white collar country club type of jail either. And I think whatever wealth they have accumulated should be taken from them and be used to help the afflicted.

Deborah 08-18-2014 03:10 PM

I'll be very interested to see the blowback and denial on this. I'm increasingly fascinated by the various methods used to try and convince people that there is nothing valid to see on autism, vaccines etc.

Deborah, it reminds me of the Stockholm Syndrome.

Oooh, great idea!! If someone became rich from knowingly contributing to the harm of others, and are found guilty in court, they should return the earnings to the victims! That sounds like justice to me.

serenbat 08-18-2014 05:33 PM

oh my! A MONEY $$$$$$$$$$ site is also talking about it - imagine that! :jaw

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/a-s...ent-2014-08-18

The results of the original study first appeared in the journal Pediatrics which receives financial support from vaccine makers via advertising and direct donations, according to a CBS News report.

"Working for the government is no different than working for corporations. You either toe the line or find yourself looking for another way to make a living," Lewis says. "No one would be surprised if Merck published unreliable data supporting the safety of its products. Why would anyone be surprised that the CDC is publishing skewed data to conclude that the vaccines it recommends are safe? We need a better system, where scientists are free to be honest."

:dropjaw:dropjaw:dropjaw

ETA- Im really curious how this gets spun, seems so far silence is the deflecter being used! Out of site, and on to pushing another one instead..........

I'd put money on there not being enough time to do more than a quick attack on Wakefield.

Why is it that the only people who get away with racism and xenophobia in this country are doctors and drug manufacturers?

beckybird 08-18-2014 08:10 PM

Applejuice---They are this century's (and last century's) trusted leaders. There are many different religions and belief systems in the USA, but the single most powerful, widespread, common belief system is the faith in the medical authorities and government. People of many religions and beliefs seem to trust in this system as if it were the modern day gospel, the new word of God. I cannot explain why this is. I have reasons why I do not trust the system, and I don't know why so many others do. Trust never came naturally to me (for very good reasons), but for most, it seems to be ingrained at the earliest age.
(This is my opinion about matters in the USA. I cannot speak about other countries, since I don't know.)

We may be reaching the tipping point, where the lies cannot be contained much longer. Oh, and good for you, Dr. Hooker! I'm glad you are making progress.

applejuice 08-18-2014 08:39 PM

You are echoing the sentiments of the Medical Heretic, Robert Mendelsohn.

RE: xenophobia, one of the complaints about the news incident re: children coming over the Rio Grande is that they are not vaccinated! That is an ignorant worry since Mexican and Central American cultures are heavily vaccinated. That is the one thing that they make sure they get taken care of.

Hm, where is Curtis Cost in all of this?
Why, oh why, do the African American persons in this nation trust doctors? After the Tuskagee Syphllis Study, I would FAR stay away from government public "health" projects. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuskege...lis_experiment

I am surprised that our pro-vaxers haven't weighed-in yet on this. I suspect that it is because "skeptic" blogger have yet to weigh-in on this. When they do decide to write something you can be sure it will be an attack on Wakefield (he narrated the video) and Brian Hooker.

I'm not! This has to be carefully crafted and we just had a HVP news story now this, what are people going to do??? You know we can't have decent going on. If you just ignore it this might all just go away........far, far away - out of site out of mind.

You have to say Wakefield 10 time and look into the mirror to get the spin you need first and I don't think many can do that! >:D

You need to remember, parents don't have degrees! You can't know something with your own child because you don't give birth and get a degree so you have "TRUST" in those who are far above you at all times, never question and go with the flow.........as it swirly goes over that waterfall. Jump on in - everyone else dose!

NOT to go OT but I did find this interesting - MMR related! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/ch...ill-exist.html The "refuseneiks" cluster in the UK not just in the US - I actually find this type of "analogy" of those who don't vaccinate and those who "assess" us to be humorous - these so called studiers of us are simply clueless.

I actually have a few degrees that I have earned. To tell the truth, I learned more when I left school than when I was in school.

And trust? TRUST is earned. No one is above me unless I allow it.

beckybird 08-19-2014 10:40 AM

And those with scientific and medical degrees who speak against vaccines are labelled as "fringe".

Deborah 08-19-2014 03:23 PM

As a textile fan, I'm fond of fringe.

More seriously, I think the response to this will be a news blackout and dead silence.

Henrietta Lacks is another example. Good read: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/...tta-lacks?ac=1

P.S. Here is the pubmed article with the reanalysis of that covered up CDC data showing that black males receiving the MMR prior to 36 months were more likely to receive autism...they call it a "statistically significant increase." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2...,f1000m,isrctn

Another article, this time from Dr Sircus.

http://drsircus.com/medicine/cdc-sci...-whistleblower

Quote:

Has your local pediatrician turned his or her back on the heavy use of antibiotics on your children? Are they still recommending you poison your kids with the yearly flu shot that contains highly toxic mercury in them? Probably not. Will they watch this video and turn against their own evil men and woman at the CDC, FDA and local medical boards that hold the whip over them? No.
Andy Wakefield certainly is vindicated as the fine doctor he is and the field of pediatrics is caught red-handed as terrorists who are no better than the Islamic monsters who are burying women and children in the sand.
How many reasons do we need not to trust them? There is not a single medical institution that openly discusses the issues and reasons why so many people are killed and seriously hurt by contemporary medicine. Police forces have internal departments to review the mistakes and abuses of power but in medicine, it is the opposite. Medical boards lock in and enforce the mistakes of medical practice. In the case of these doctors at the CDC they should be put on trial for crimes against humanity and remembered in the darkness of other mass murderers for all times.
Strong words.

beckybird 08-20-2014 11:33 AM

Rappoport sums it up nicely,

"Official studies are done which “show” that some cases of what’s called autism are not preceded by vaccination—and therefore, vaccines couldn’t be “the single cause of the single disease called autism.”

That proof, of course, is completely false—because what’s called autism isn’t a single disease. It’s neurological damage, which can have a number of causes.

And now we are looking at one of those causes: the MMR vaccine."
.................................................. .................................................. ..............................
"Hooker states he has seen raw CDC data not included in any study. And the data show that:

African-American boys who receive their first MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine before the age of 36 months have a 300% increased risk for autism.

If this is true, what else is the CDC hiding?"
.
Great point.....how many times have we heard the "SCIENCE" says vaccines do not cause autism, and are safe? Well, how do you account for all the data that were not included in the studies, because they may show something negative about vaccines? How many unfavorable studies were discarded, because they might damage the vaccine program? Do we even have a way to know? And yet, without knowing this, we are still expected to bow down and accept this "science"? Don't you dare even question it, or else!
.
Noooooo thanks. You can trust the "science" that has been cherry picked for the public, but I'll pass. I'm tired of hearing the phrase "science shows they are safe", when the "vaccine science" we are expected to trust is just a pile of junk and lies. I'm not saying all science is bad, but there is a lot of bad science in the field of allopathic medicine.

Only have time to respond to this one post.

What exactly is there to report? An alleged "whistleblower" who allegedly worked for the CDC who is conveniently remaining anonymous supposedly talked to a well known anti vaxer who is a board member of Focus Autism "an organization which believes in the ongoing cover-up of the vaccine/autism link" on the phone?

??

Where is the story? Where is the evidence? The DeStefano thing has been discussed and debunked on many skeptic sites.

Trust me, journalists would be chomping at the bit if there was any evidence or validity to this story. They live for this kind of stuff.

For example, look at some of the things Brian Deer (who anti vaxers hate) has exposed and won awards for investigating:

"One of Deer's early investigations caused uproar in the drug industry when in 1986 he revealed that research into the safety of the contraceptive pill was fabricated at Deakin University, Australia, by scientist Professor Michael Briggs, employed by the German company Schering AG.[3] In 1994, his investigation of The Wellcome Trust led to the withdrawal in the UK of a blockbuster antibiotic, Septrin, Bactrim, and the sale of the trust's pharmaceutical subsidiary Wellcome Foundation.[4] In 2005, the withdrawal of the Merck painkiller Vioxx was followed by an investigation by Deer into the British medical chiefs behind the drug's introduction.[5] In 2008, a celebrity psychiatrist, Raj Persaud, was suspended from practicing medicine and resigned his academic position after being found guilty of plagiarism following a Deer investigation. "
