Hi, I just spoke with a friend who's 4 year old just got some vax, mmr and polio and another one. I told her her son is contagious and my son and pregnant women should not be around him. She checked with her doctor and confirmed what I said, and she's not going to the group activity with me and some others that she planned to.

If it is a friend I'll know about the vaxing, but I can't always know what kids have been recently vaxed.

How do you protect your unvaxed child from contagious recently vaxed children? Especially polio.

I don't know where you are but in the US we use IPV now, not OPV. IPV is injectible killed polio wheras OPV is oral live polio. Killed viruses aren't contagious.

Part of my decision not to vax is that I'm not afraid of "VPD's." I wouldn't mind if they got most of them so I wouldn't take any special precautions .
