We got a letter from the Department of Health and Human Services today that we have been randomly selected to participate in a study to measure the progress of vaccination for young children.

We haven't vaccinated DD and I feel some what unsure about participating in this study. It has been a different road for me explaining our not vaxing in the hospital setting and when EI comes to the house.

But, on the other hand it seems it could be important that they know there are families who choose not to vaccinate for reasons other than cost.

Please give me some feedback. Your thoughts. The website they gave is http://www.cdc.gov/nis

Thanks!

Christi

They already know that. Any new information they get will probably be used to develop arguments and strategies to change people's minds.

On the other hand, you could demonstrate that unvaccinated children are not doomed to die a horrific death. Just playing devil's advocate.

chrfath, after you've told them to stick it you know where, could I get you to send me that letter to me, please? I really like an original copy of it in my sticky little hands.

PLEEEAAASEEE????

The whole purpose of these surveys is to design pamphlets to counter information.

The only good reason to participate in one, would be to dish them up such a whole load of baloney that they would realise they were being taken for a doozer.

Like... well, I only eat sawdust for breakfast, so if you make vaccines on sawdust I might think about it....

The less you say the less attention you draw to yourself and your child. I would not participate.

Imo, the more children they think are vaccinated, the less pressure they put on everyone to do it. Like said, they don't care about your reasons, but only a way to counter those objections in their marketing. And unless your state offers a philosophical exemption for school, you could really be putting your child in jeapordy for giving anything but a religious reason. Is it really even their business, since it's certainly not their concern, why you don't vaccinate? I'd ignore it. They don't care about you, your child or your reasons.
