OK, so I asked about this a few weeks ago and no one answered. I need to get a HepB series for school but I can't really find any info on vaxing in an adult. I know the reasons I didn't vax my kids, but I'm torn when it comes to me. I'll be working in the medical field, drawing blood, suturing, ect. So, how importnant is the HepB series in relation to that?

Any nurses/med assistants/docs here NOT get it? Is it worth any risks?

I have a time frame here to get it I need some input. Also, if I decline (which I can for school) how likely am I to get a job?

I am about to post something related to my hep b series. I feel that I have been injured by this vaccine. I don't know that I have been and I don't know how to tell. (When I asked the doctor about it he said there is no way because the vaccine is safe and he refused to pursue it.) So, I don't know what to tell you.
What would happen if you got a needle stick?
How often do they happen?
What percentage of the needlestick patients have Hep B?
How would you be treated if you were stuck with an infected needle?
How many people have been injured by the hep B vaccine?
What can they do if you react to the vaccine?
Do you have any allergies now, any immune dysfunction in the family?
Why did you decide not to vax your kids?
Can you tell which way I'm leaning?

ETA: I'm sorry I don't know about if you can get the job or not. I was told that I absolutely had to. But I had been told a lot of things that weren't true. Maybe call the human resource dept of some random hospital and ask? Something wouldn't not hire someone because of their religious objection to vaccination, would you?
