I woke up this morning to hear on our local radio station a pharmacist from Kroger and the radio personalities talking about flu shots. ICK! At the end of the segment, the radio guy says- get this- "There's no reason to not get your flu shot, so go get one!" Needless to say, I'm enraged so I go and call the station. I tell them that there are a thousand reasons NOT to get one, and list off formeldahyde, acetone, and thimerosol as ingrediants. Of course, I'm not good under pressure at all, so I pretty much froze up after that.

So I emailed Doc (one of the hosts) with this:

Please tell your listeners that it is very important to research the risks of the flu shot before injecting your body with chemicals (including formeldehyde, acetone, antifreeze, and mercury).

Hugh Fudenberg, MD, an immunogeneticist and biologist with nearly 850 papers published in peer review journals, has reported that if an individual had five consecutive flu shots between 1970 and 1980 (the years studied), his/her chances of getting Alzheimer's Disease is ten times higher than if they had zero, one, or two shots.

Thanks for a great show!
Gina

I got back this email:

THey're told at the site before getting the shot.

It's required. No need to put that on the air.

Doc

So I was totally peeved, seeing red. Thinking of what to write back, when I got another email from him:

I thought you were talking about the usual flu vaccine dangers when I first looked over your e-mail and replied to it. Read it more thoroughly just a bit ago. Since I’d never heard of this, did a search on the internet to see if this is a hoax and it appears to be: http://www.themediadesk.com/files/hg.htm

So, obviously he's receptive to what I was saying since he "researched" it. Please please please help educate this man, he is reaching many many people through the radio. This radio station calls itself Young Country, and I know alot of people in my age group (I'm 23) listen to it. This is the age that is so very important to reach, as we are just now starting our families/having babies.
A link to the Young Country page http://www.wycd.com/article.asp?id=219133
I got through at 9:30am Tuesday (this morning) right away at this number- (313) 298-1999.

If you'd like to make a request of one of our air personalities, the phone number in the studio is (313) 298-1999. The studio fax number is (248) 358-9217

"I certainly feel for the difficulties you've experienced. But I can't impart
information that isn't backed up by a reputable source. I've used some of
the tools available to us here at CBS to search a database of newspapers,
magazines and medical journals. There's not one item that backs this up.

I apologize, but I'm limited to certain rules. When CBS News, the Associated
Press ..even the Detroit News runs this story, I'll be right on it. You'd
think if there were some truth to it, it would turn up in the New York
Times. But it hasn't. Unfortunately, until that happens, there's nothing I
can say.

I wish you well

That link that "Doc" quotes is all about mercury and I really think it goes further than that.

See this thread, read what MT has to say post #7 about aluminium.

MT is brilliant.

Can't say much more than that.

I'm still : at the guy at the radio station though. I didn't expect any less, but still.:

I hope he ends up w/ a wife who's rabidly anti vax. Wouldn't that be just hilarious? :

to be honest (and not to rain on anybody's parade), i wouldnt waste my time with this guy.

1st of all, he sounds like a typical dr who believes what he wants to believe. you wont change his mind, and you wont get your opinion on the air (well, unless you break into the radio station and take the djs hostage, but i doubt you're willing to do that.)

2nd, the radio station is owned by CBS. watch a few minutes of your local cbs tv station, and besides all those political ads, the other big group of ads you will see are from the pharmaceutical companies. (well, maybe you have to wait till after elections to see something besides political ads...) but my point is, as with everything else associated with vaxes, follow the money. cbs isnt going to jeopardize their advertising money to let the public know the truth. the media picks and chooses what they consider to be "news."
