A friend of DH lives in Portland. She wants to know which vaccines to avoid for her ds. I am not aware of her already having any exemption.

But, (correct me if I'm wrong), can you pick-&-choose which vaccines you want with a religious or medical exemption? Isn't it all or nothing??

She is asking me "I would like to know for the future how to tell if mercury is in the vaccines. And I want to be more informed as to which vaccines (and Why) to keep away from XXX."

So (thanks to MDC!!), I can give her links about vaccine ingredients and explain about asking to read inserts, etc. I can offer info on the various vaccines and their risks-vs-benefits.

But, can you refuse this vaccine and take that vaccine in Oregon?? I believe her ds is in public school (she is a fulltime working single Mom) and, so, I would think an exemption would be needed to avoid any vaccinations.

Any advice and help you can offer is greatly appreciated!

You can use a religious exemption for school that exonerates you from all vaccines but what you do in private is your own business.

We vaccinated (different state) up to a certain point. The school even had the records and then we changed our mind. So we filled out a religious exemption.

Make sure you tell her that mercury is not the only concern about vaccines. Those people who vaccinated their children with mercury laden shots had no clue that it was in there or that it posed a danger.

In a few years time they may let us all in on a little secret that there is something in vaccines that deffinitely causes cancer or sterility or whatever...

This link will open up to a post with everything your friend will need to know about Oregon exemptions, including a religious exemption brochure the state puts out: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...39&postcount=9
