I have no idea what serotype replacement is...could you direct me to some information or share what you know?

Here's a thread on it:

It's a phenomenon that only applies to the Hib vaccine, Prevnar, and Menactra. (the "bacterial meningitis" vaccines)
The bacteria those vaccines make you immune to are bacteria that everyone carries without symptoms every once in a while, and getting rid of a one or more types (serotypes) opens up "space" for other types to go nuts and do all the things the old ones did. Sort of like how taking antibiotics can cause a yeast infection because there's a competition between bacteria and fungi, different types of bacteria also compete in the human body for space.

So what you get is not so much an actual decrease in "bacterial meningitis" with those vaccines, but rather a switch in what types of bacteria are doing it.
