speaking of people that can kiss it...
So my DD is due for her 2 month WBV, and I scheduled one 'cause I'm about to get out of the military and I don't know how long it will take to get new insurance set up, and get a ped... and the only appointment they had available was during the week that my MIL will be here... and might I add that my MIL is already asking about DD's shots, etc, since she somehow got wind that a couple of her friends' kids that CD and are planning on "extended" breastfeeding are also not vaxing...
So... that's going to be fun. We were originally planning on just telling her that we "went to the doctor and everything's fine" when she asked about it... but... now I'm just considering canceling the appt and maybe asking for one like the day before I get out. :P She is totally not OK with anything in the realm of natural parenting. I find it devilishly fun to freak her out about stuff like breastfeeding for ::gasp:: more than 6 weeks, etc... but I REALLY don't want to get into the vax thing with her, and DH doesn't want to either.
Bleh.

Someone was asking why the rate of pertussis suddenly shot up in 2005. Simple, there was a new vax on the market for people over the age of 7 and doctors were encouraged to diagnose whooping cough.

Of course there is no connection whatsoever between the pertussis rate and the availability of a vax for a new age group! The only people who could believe that story are conspiracy minded anti-vaxers who can't read the science...right?

Ahhhh. it's nice to come here and not having to watch every thread get turned into the same old argument.

I sometimes wonder why pro-vaxers even post here. It's good to see both sides but I come to MDC to get away from the mainstream views & find support.

seems like this place tends to get kind of tense. I wonder if we can start a new anti-vax only forum??

I removed many posts that were UA violations or were quoting such posts. I'm going to close this thread temporarily
