Does anyone know how long the MMR sheds for? I was going to get Jocelyn her MMR when she was 2 in Feb 2009, but I just realized that it might not be such a great idea with Mia only being a month old when Jocelyn turns 2, and a late-term preemie, to be exposed to a shedding live virus. So, would it be better for Jocelyn to get the MMR in November/December, or will the shedding not be gone by then? (I also have to worry about it shedding to Brandon, who is unable to get that vax, but he'll be 5 and I think his immune system can handle it).

If it takes a ridiculously long time to finish shedding, I'll have to postpone her vax until Mia's old enough as well I think.

I think in general most live virus vaxes can shed for 7-21 days.
