I didn't label who is who yet, but you can see the babies. I just threw some pictures up. I'll organize and label later.

So chubby and cute! No one is going to be able to guess that they came two whole months early

Gosh, and you're going to be a breastfeeding pro by the time most of us have our babies, maybe you could give us some pointers?

I'm getting a fair amount of colostrum, enough to cover the bottom of the bottles and the lactation nurse come to see me every morning to make sure I dont' have any questions.

I'm sure I'll spend lots of time on the nicu forum here and the breastfeeding forums, but I'm glad to have someone in real life to tell me how to do it too, since I've never breastfed before.
Whew... I didn't want to come of as pushy or anything-- when I saw you're post I just had flashbacks of the other twin mom and her upset over no one at the hospital helping her initiate pumping for almost a week and I didn't want that to happen to you. I'm glad you're getting support from the hospital .

How are YOU feeling?

I'm tired achy, sore, hormonal, ect. I go from giddy to sobbing several times a day. Hopefully the hormonal thing will sort itself out soon. My hubby is starting to worry about me.

They are beautiful, and so big for 33 weeks. My DS was a full-term NICU baby, and I remember being heart-broken too at seeing so many tiny babies. I was in a different hospital (I delivered in a hospital with no NICU so DS got transferred and I stayed) and the nurses used to tease that DS didn't need breastmilk, he needed steak.

Congrats momma! :

I see that you're having a Ben too! My big ole babies definately look out of place among all the littlies. I remember when I was 20 weeks pregnant and got to hold an almost 11 lb newborn and thinking he was so tiny and breakable. Now I see my babies and they look so big! I can't believe they're almost half the size of that little guy.

Update:

Emaline is in an open crib. She's maintaining her temperature, digesting feeds, and on two bottles a day. I get to start "practicing" nursing tomorrow! She's well on her way to moving to the 7th floor, which is the "transition" nursery. She'll have her own room and I can stay with her all day and just feed her and cuddle her.

Ben's a bit slower, but that's expected with boys. He's off oxygen, and will practice maintaining his temperature tomorrow. If he maintains his temperature and keeps his oxygen up all by himself, he'll move to an open crib tomorrow or the next day. I told him he better catch up cause his sister is kicking his butt!

They're both just as beautiful as can be in completely different ways. Emaline is dark haired, with a small, delicate little face and features. Ben is blonde as can be with the chubbiest little cheeks and a puckery mouth and a big round belly. Emaline likes to be all snuggled up in her baby burrito, but Ben stretches out like a cat every so often and likes to sleep all sprawled out. It's so cute!

Sounds like they are doing great! Don't let Emaline be lazy when she nurses. I noticed my daughter, because she was tube fed for so long, thought that a few sucks and she should be full. Her head is going to seem so small in comparison to your breast too. Get lots of pictures. One day you'll barely remember how easy it was to nurse them holding them in just one arm... and you'll need to be reminded while 20lbs of wiggling toddler whines for the boob.
