I'm sorry about the trauma in the hospital... please let yourself feel, process & talk about it when you're ready

Congratulations! What a beautiful boy!

I can relate, with my first I also got to 9.5 at home & then started to swell, transferred & had an unpleasant time but still a natural birth. Its not easy, but you will feel better. Good luck with the nursing & enjoy your babymoon!

Married Catholic mami : to 5 boys, : 9 6 3 : 5 mo. 5/6/02-6/22/02 (HIE)

Thank you, it's so nice to know that I'm not the only one to have been there I took the first step today and asked DH to throw out the flowers that the OB had delivered to my room after the birth. I know I'm one of the lucky ones in terms of psychological recovery simply for being aware of the term birthrape and absolutely will be taking advantage of all my resources as I come to terms with the birth of my son.

Otherwise, since my last post...Xander and I are getting the hang of feeding with our difficulties and are already doing 1000% better thanks to a flyer I picked up in the pediatrician's lactation room (who would've thought?). Our ped was awesome and I feel so lucky since she was chosen by my insurance for me. She didn't even bat an eye when she read that we declined all the routine newborn hospital stuff and agreed with me on almost every point while very respectfully providing her professional opinion when we differed

Congratulations! You did great!

Wishing you some rest and healing this week, relief of sore spots! Way to go on the breastfeeding; it can be so hard to get started. Glad you got a good ped; that will be a huge relief. It is really hard having to fight all the time, so now you can just relax a bit!

Congratulations and welcome baby Xander!

It's not that the stay-at-home-parent gets to stay home with the kids. The kids get to stay home with a parent. Lucky Mom to DD1 (4 y) and DD2 (18 mo), Wife to Mercenary Dad

Oh my - what a beautiful baby! Congratulations - and you go on staying home until 9.5. I'm planning on hospital delivery (VBAC w/ GREAT doc), but wanting to stay home as long as I can. Enjoy that precious baby and thanks for sharing the pictures! :

Happy wife and also mommy to my two boys, 12-12-07 (c-sec) and 04-05-09 (vbac!) and another due in December.
