So sorry Nancy! I could loan you my almost 4 year old who wants to play ALL DAY LONG, but I know it wouldn't be the same as having your baby!!!

It was hard to get baby to move this morning, took forever, scary. Finally she did some but not as much as usual. Is this normal at this stage??? I drank OJ and am up now so will see if she moves more... I had a bad backache last night probably from all the walking I did yesterday and a sharp pain low on my abdomen next to my leg. But now that is gone, just the dull backache, which I remember having prelabor with DD. Okay baby is moving good now, I feel better! I want her out so I don't have to worry about that anymore!

It's going to be a beatiful day here today, almost 70, so we plan to be out all day long. DD got a new bigwheel and my how she can fly! Now all we need is her new glider swing she's getting for her birthday so she can push herself!

I always thought I would never want to get my membranes stripped either, but its starting to sound reasonable. I think if I make it past 41 weeks I would consider it. G'night everyone!
Yes, will be interesting to see. I don't know why I"m surprised this one hasn't arrived yet, this whole pregnancy has been different from DDs. I too thought I'd never do the membranes but I will at 41 weeks.

I'm sort of awake, I guess. Didn't sleep too well after a certain point, and kept tossing and turning for hours until it was time to get up. It is then that I fall asleep again. So annoying. Today I have about 15 meetings with students, which will be a blast. Tonight, we have friends over for dinner, and it is my night to cook. It will be fun IF I can stay awake that long.

Shine - I asked my Dr. yesterday about baby movements, primarily because LO is a little sluggish in the morning and it always worries me. It's almost as if I forget how intense his night kicks are. Anyway, he said that it's normal if they slow down and become less intense as long as you get 10 kicks in 2 hours.

Nancy - Yes. I wish the same thing. But chances are it ain't going to happen for me any time soon.

I was going to catch up on yesterday's threat, but I had to go to bed too early to miss the major late night action. Hope everyone continues to be well. Off

My mom invited Madeline over to spend the night tonight, I can't decide if I want her to. A break is always nice but she really wants to see this baby being born. My mom is only 20 minutes away but I'm not sure if I will call my mom to come when I'm in labor anyway, and if Madeline is over there then I'll have no choice.

There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.

Don't you still pregnant mamas know that I'm relying on you to help me remember the date? Okay, Wednesday...I can find a calendar and figure it out.

Obviously there is less internet time with a little one (actually, some days there is more, but it's just one handed, so I's reading but not responding), but I'm still watching and cheering everyone on. Come on out, babies!!!

yikes.

Just yesterday my MW told me in her 20 years delivering babies she's only ever had three patients who delivered while sick. She says babies just wait. So get better! She told me when I let her know I'd been sick last week she said to herself that she knew I wouldn't be delivering before this week at the earliest then.

Good morning (almost afternoon here) everyone! I slept ok last night. I was definitely up for a little while and the birds were chirping (which was nice, but not when I wanted to sleep) really loudly and I thought I was going to be up at 5:30 AM. Thankfully I managed to fall back to sleep and stay asleep until 11!

Nancy - you are too funny. Maybe softball practice will send you into labor. I'm ready for my lo to come out and play too - but I think we all are.

I hope some of us go into labor today! I have until 6 tomorrow and if not I will start being induced (and I'm ok with that but of course would rather go on my own). Either way I should be meeting LO soon!!!!

yesterday evening was wierd - I was hungry so I started fixing grilled cheese and then started to get nausous. Then started getting what felt like bad menstral cramp (well cramping I could feel in my cervix and butt). I swirled my hips at the counter and paced for a while.

Finally the sandwich was done and I took that and water to my bedroom and sat on my ball. The cramping diminished to almost nothing. Ate, but still felt nausous.

Early this morning woke with heartburn, nausea and cold sweats. I almost feel like i'm coming down with something. I went back to sleep, feel better, but still feel off.

So over the weekend, we went swimming. DH was looking at me in my swimsuit, and freaked out because he thought my knees were really swollen. I had to kindly inform him that was not swelling but a result of all the weight I've put on this pg. He is used to be gaining half the amount that I have this time.

Peony that's so funny but it's not pregnancy just rakes havoc on our bodies doesn't it?

So I don't think I'm getting sick I think I was just really hungry I decided to risk it and eat and I feel better

Nancy I almost gave up and went back to work on Monday. I was really tired Monday morning though otherwise I just might have
I would be really nice to take a break and go back to non-pregnant life for a bit

Seriously, I'm going to just ignore all of this.
I feel quite normal today, despite some squirming in there, and the weather is going to be nice for the next few days. My brain is ready to play ball. I realize my body isn't, but hell... I went skiing at 28 weeks for six days, I can most certainly throw the ball around for an hour at 38 weeks.

I'm all puffy-looking and sloth-like and I can't take it anymore. Spring fever.
All I do is sit around waiting for a new sign of labor. Well, it's stupid and I'm going to go back to living my life. If I ignore it, maybe it will go away.

I know I'm not overdue or anything, but this is how I feel: overdue. I'm huge, the baby is way strong, I'm rested, and there's no reason why it shouldn't just come out now.

So that's it. I'm done.

I saw my mw this morning. We didn't check my cervix. She did tell me that baby is much lower this week, though. She checked my hemoglobin along with the regular prenatal exam stuff, and I'm still healthy all-around.

Mw's assistant guessed baby's size as in the high 8 pound/low 9-lb range. My first two were 9lb 3oz & 10lb 2oz. (I was 9lb 6oz, so genetics are running things here...) I have to admit that I would prefer this baby to be closer to 8lb - I'd really love to be able to put a baby in NB clothes, dipes & booties...

I left my girls with a friend and I'm supposed to be getting my house ready for my mother blessing. I have less than an hour and a half, so I need to go so I can finish before she shows up with the kiddos. I hope to find more great baby news when I come back!

Nancy - I feel really normal these past couple days too and its really depressing. I wish I would feel SOMETHING going on!!

Shine - it seems like with the recent tragedies on this board, Im REALLY nervous about baby movement. The babies ARE supposed to slow down so Im cherishing every teeny, tiny movement I feel. Yay for sunny days! Its warm and sunny here too!

Azreial - You know babies come when the mom is healthy!!!!!

fischk - I didnt realize it was 10 movements in 2 hours, now THATS a relief!! this lo moves 10 in 10 seconds in the evening, shes just a late riser I guess. Oh and did you see that you put "didnt read yesterdays threaT" hehe. Thats what point we desperate preg woman are now, threatening our babies!!

Peony - I have the same thing going on with my dd but we have put a hold on all sleepovers until after baby is born. Its just a hassle too, even THINKING about the what-ifs.

Mel - Yay!!!! Youre enjoying the sweet little one AND on MDC. I hope everything is going great with you and your family.

Ilek - Yup! I think theres a few babies on this board that are just going to be inside mom forever. I wouldnt be upset though, wouldnt have to fight her to get her to clean her room!!!

emma - in 20 years only THREE sick moms, thats really crazy!!! Hopefully youre illness will disappear and the baby will come fast!

michelle - Im on pins and needles here for you!!! Tomorrow is the final day? That little man is COMFORTABLE in there, isnt he?!

Melissa - Didnt this same thing happen to Amy before she went into labor?! She was "coming down with something" turned out to be a baby!!!

Peony - for some reason, the "smiles" thing isnt working but Im sending you hugs regardless. Swollen knees aside, it must have been AMAZING to go swimming!!!!!

Bennypai - Yes, lo is lower, that a great sign!!!

Justices - Hope you get to relax today!!

Im expecting a package today and the estimate is 9 to 5. lol AND it has to be signed for, so it looks like Im staying home and cleaning for a while!!! ugh.

I slept fine last night. When I went to bed though, my pelvis felt like it was busting in half. I seriously called a friend and we joked that i am going to be the first woman whos baby EXPLODES out of her. Then Ill have a tv show on tlc!! The Woman Whos Vagina Exploded. hehe

I have a u/s later today just to get a weight "estimate". The nurse told me to drinnk 32 oz of water an hour beforehand. I said "Youre joking right?" and then she said that I could do 24 oz 45 min beforehand. Good thing I wear a pad every day, Im gonna need it!!!

I actually have goals today:

Clean 2 of 3 bathrooms (dh does ours)
dust downstairs and bedroom
repack clothes for hospital
grocery shop
finish 2 loads of laundry

Off to do chores, have a great day everyone!!!!:

I've walked a good 10Km each day for the past three days Now that i have all this time, I feel like I have so much energy, lol. I actually have a ton of stuff to get done, though, but I'm taking it easy and doing it all in slow-mode.

I'm still hoping that the baby waits for my mom to come. That'll work the best with the kids.

Peony - I don't think I'd let her go. YOu don't want to live with that regret if she misses it. but the break would be nice....

Hi mamas,

Michelle, I'm thinking about you as you creep up on the deadline, even if its an induction, it can go very well! My mom had 4 pit inductions and we were all big, but normal & unmedicated deliveries. She thinks of them all as good experiences.

Azreial, I hope you feel better! I'm finding my stomach gets upset easily too these days.

Ilek, I like your attitude, I can relate, I'm getting oddly used to this too.

Except...tomorrow morning is my C section!!! Please send happy healthy thoughts & good healing thoughts my way if you don't mind. Part of me wants to be 39 weeks forever, its sweet & private btwn baby & me right now. Although I am kind of in denial that my 5th boy will be out tomorrow. I feel good about the surgeon, I know that this birth method is safest for my baby, but its always a little nerve-racking!

Good luck to everyone & I hope things are moving along for those that are ready, like you Nancy!!

That's so exciting to know you'll be holding him in your arms tomorrow I'm glad you feel confident with the surgeon and I'm sure all will go smoothly. YAY!! I hope you're resting up!

FIVE boys?! Wow, what a blessing!!! Were having our 2nd girl and people keep asking if were disappointed or sad we didnt get one of each. (so rude) DH said he had a dream when he met me that wed have 6 girls and although he was a little panicked at the thought, he was really excited at the thought of so many sweet girls around him. (He IS the only male in our house so he keeps saying 'Whats one more?!' we have a female cat and gecko too!)

I just love hearing about families with all one sex for some reason and Im not sure why!!!:

Just got back from my appointment. So I'm due on Sat.

They couldn't find my gbs results still - grrr - so still have no clue if it was positive or negative. They did the swap 3 weeks ago! Meaning if they don;t find it and i go into labor, i'm guessing they'll treat me as if I am positive... I will so not be a happy camper

I'm still 80-90% dialated and at 4 cent now and -1 station.

I asked how long they let you go. She said since I'm due on Sat, at next weeks appointment they will schedule an induction if I haven't gone. I questioned about doing anything else and had her strip my membranes when I was there. (that didn't hurt a bit)

I have an appointment on Monday for a NST and then will see the midwife again. I asked if she could strip again on Monday and she said she could. So hopefully.... I have another NST scheduled for Thursday as well.

She said that since I'm already 4 cent she highly doubts the Cervidil would do anything for me. So that would me inducing with pitocin.

I told her I really want to avoid pitocin. She recommended walking and nipple stimulation to try to get things going. She said they can do a low dose pitocin to try to get things going if it comes to induction and turn it off.

Sigh

So Not really happy with my appointment...

Well, I planted a mini rose bush and some tulips, trimmed the hedges and pruned the peonies.

Then I ate cheesecake for lunch...
