Dh and my mom. I called my mom this morning; now that she knows (though she's sworn to secrecy) I can share here.

After my first prenatal (September 3)--assuming all's still well--I'll tell my boss and the rest of my immediate family (unless I let it slip to them earlier!), because the paperwork for childbearing leave takes forever, and it's good to get things going early so you don't have to worry about it.

Trying to decide when to tell dd. She'll be ecstatic--her two best friends have baby siblings and she's been asking for "one of her own." But she's only 3-1/2, so it will be a long wait until April.

Mom of two girls.

DP was standing in the bathroom with me to take the test. Then we called my parents and both of my sisters. We also told our donor.

I don't think I'm going to be able to keep it a secret though. Most folks at work know we've been trying. All my friends know we've been trying and we would be testing this weekend. So, I'm sure come Monday I'll have people asking and there's no since in trying to conceal. They'll see it on my face before the words even come out!

Heart-n-Bones, so good to see you here!! :

Yeah, we pretty much told everyone immediately. I took one of the pee sticks to work for everyone to look at. We are in a similar situation to you... everyone knew we were trying and have been so supportive that we couldn't conceal our joy.

Well, everyone that is except for my parents. : But that is a whole 'nother story.

Only dh, my online world here at MDC and my one friend that I have been confiding in about my IF journey. And my dh has been warning me to stop announcing "I'm pregnant" to myself around the house because dd is at that fun parroting stage!!! We'll wait for 10-12 weeks for sure. I practically had to make a list of what order to tell people because my family is all blabbermouths but would be offended not to hear it from me directly, and so many of my friends are linked to my work (best that the boss doesn't hear it through the grapevine!)

PS How do you add that cool weeks counter to your signature?

mama to two DD's, 7 and 3 (3 rounds of IVF and more FET's than I can remember)

You have to type it out and manually move the little icon across it as the weeks pass. You could also try copying and pasting someone elses, but you still have to manually move the icon each week.

hello all! We have told people who wouldn't be crushed if it didn't work out...meaning friends that would be a support should something happen. Next weekend we will tell family, since we rarely see them. I guess I'll be just 7 weeks at that point.

We started out with just my mother, doula, and mw.
We gathered at a friend's house the next day, though, and couldn't help ourselves. So we told the children - wouldn't want them to overhear anything and feel left out.
They were excited.: Zeta (4.5) asked if the baby could sleep in the hamper with her. *THis is a game she plays.
Then we decided to just go for it, and called up the in-laws. The next morning, I sent out a mass email. So it's out. BIG sigh of relief!!

We have told pretty much everyone. Although I have nothing but nasty thoughts for my FIL who said "Haven't you figured out how this happens yet?" Holy craps! Like three kids is *that* many.

Minions...I've got minions. Sheepish.gifblahblah.gifangel2.gifkid.gif  And dogs.

I've told lots of folks! I managed not to tell my mom the same day I got the bfp this time, but only by a few days! So, I've told, mom, dad, brothers, aunt, cousin, 1 co-worker, boss (b/c I had a loss in Apr and was going to have to travel last week and had a spotting episode and needed out of that trip), boss's secretary, best friend, 2 other friends, 1 BIL and that's it! Oh, yeah, and just about everyone in cyberspace!

Mama to a dd 10/05; ds 3/09, dd 2/15 and two angels. Expecting another miracle 7/16!
